Martinez number 1 in who's eyes? he isn't even top 5! who has martinez ever beat? not a single world class fighter SNM:hi:
its not a great division, burns is a decent fighter with a big heart but i cant see him challenging in other weight classes.
Nice to see so many people hurting:yep Ricky beat the no1 in the division, therefore hes the no1, whether you racist englanders like it or not. The quicker you all just accept accept Ricky Burns is numero uno the better. Dans the man, & it hurts you all like hell
racist englandersatsch im half scottish you turd..ricky did not beat the number 1 in the division tho! only on paper martinez was the best, i like ricky but come on...he isn't nowhere near uchiyama! solis would beat him aswell, maybe even fana.
not at all, martinez was fighting away form home and lost a very close decision! if in puerto rico martinez would win, burns isn't top 3..end of..so your proud of ricky being "on paper" the best when everybody apart from the scottish know he is nowhere near the best:rofl good on ya:hi: Uchiyama, salgado,Ao,litzau, all have better wins then burns
Martinez was not no.1 when Burns beat him and if he was it was by default. this is my top 15 right now. if anyone in the top 5 beats anyone else in the top 5 they will be No.1 Super Featherweight (130lbs) World Championship: (Vacant) 1. Takashi Uchiyama (WBA) 2. Mzonke Fana (IBF) 3. Takahiro Ao (WBC) 4. Ricky Burns (WBO) 5. Juan Carlos Salgado 6. Jason Litzau 7. Roman Martinez 8. Sergey Gulyakevich 9. Vitali Tajbert 10. Adrian Broner 11. Daniel Ponce De Leon 12. Jorge Solis 13. Agenis Mendez 14. Elroy Perez 15. Ermano Fegatilli
Okay so you've now exposed yourself as a hater with that comment. Burns won extremely convincingly in everyones eyes so don't try in rewrite the books by saying it was extremely close or could have gone either way. On what basis do you think he would lose to Martinez in Peurto Rico? Ricky is clearly only going to get better from here and improve on his performance when he comes up against another top opponent. There's been obvious improvements in his style and the way he boxes since he won the title, probably due to confidence.
He will only get worse by fighting sub par opposition. Martinez was not the man. Theres a difference between being the man and no.1
