Kirkland is the kind of opponent Kelly can look great against. Plus, Kirkland likes to block punches with his face which wouldn't be a good strategy against the heavy handed Pavlik.

I mean, Kirkland can hit, and one can only imagine him fuming in the weigh room in the clink, with no way to relieve tension (unless Anne Wolfe dropped by for some conjug- I mean, training sessions...) and chomping at the bit to taste victory upon release...

...if Kelly grossly underestimated Kirkland, thinking "oh I'll just train for a week and easily handle this light middleweight coming off a layoff"...he might get himself in trouble.

Most likely, though - Pavlik's right hands make James wish he was still bunking with serial rapists. Enough of them landing down the pipe (and most of them would) would have him running out and violating his parole ASAP.

I mean, if Allen Conyers can drop him...and no, history will not repeat itself there...if you rise from a KD and try to swarm Pavlik in a berserk rage...you're sentenced to ten seconds of learning to count...plus a few minutes of sitting up with a glazed look probation.

Kelly Pavlik took BOMBS from Ediron Miranda and hardly did blink his eye. Only Absolutely Great Placed Shot From JT dropped him and KP was seriously Hurt.
One has Proven Chin and Hard punch against Top dogs while another hasnt either..

Shut up, Listen I believe Kirkland hits harder than anybody KP ever faced. Miranda was dry and weight drained in that fight against KP and didn't have full effect on his shots. If Kirkland gets KP hurt its a wrap. I think the Kirkland loss was a fluke and bad stoppage.

 

edison was no more drained then kelly was. this was edison's coming out party and it got ruined in awful fashion. he's been destroyed in every big fight since including fights above mw so i don't buy that from you or from rayhogan.

How did I miss this poll last year? Pavlik would turn Kirkland's anus inside out. He'd be out before he hit the ground or left slumped in a corner twitching. It would NOT be pretty. Pav is bigger and feasts on guys who come forward throwing caution to the wind while displaying porous defense.

May as well send Kirk back to the big house rather than making him walk the plank.....
