Anthony Mundine vs. Garth Wood II RBR

Round 1

Wood keeps his guard high and tight, his body cheated out to his right with the leg on that side pointed completely away from Mundine. Very defensive posture from Wood. Mundine is the "aggressor" with his jab. Wood dives in with a left hook, landing into a clinch as Mundine counters with a glancing right hand. Nervous energy from Wood. Right to to the body by Wood. Mundine circles to his right and pops a few jabs. Wood takes a jab to the gut and grabs Mundine around the back. Quick break by the ref. Wood goes for the body, landing some really nice hooks. Warnings to both after some more holding.

Mundine's jab has been the cleanest and most consistent weapon so far.

Round 2

The referee holds up the action after the bell to start the round by very sternly warning Mundine about breaking when he says break. Wood comes swarming in with pendulum shots. The referee then peels him off and wags a finger in his face about breaking when he says break. It's a really important issue to this guy. Wood keeps swarming in, leaning on Mundine and banging away with hooks and right hands. Mundine is just covering up, scared. A lot of it is blocked but Wood is forcing some shots through with sheer power. Mundine needs to find an answer here. Wood keeps grinding his way inside, landing at least one solid power punch every time to the body and/or side of the head and getting clinched. The referee is TOTALLY unforgiving of infighting and keeps getting in there and hollering his head off whenever they lean together. Mundine is getting an ass kicking. Huge pump-action left hooks to the ribs by Wood. Mundine lines up a few nice counter rights near the end of the round but doesn't turn the tide. Wood turns southpaw.

Round 3

Mundine holds up his forearm flypaper, with Wood wading in and blasting away. Wood is stunned a bit by a counter right from Mundine. Now an uppercut. Mundine is just lining up his 1-2 from mid range and nailing Wood with it. Wood tries to tie up. Mundine keeps working his jab. Mundine tosses Wood across the ring and into the ropes. Wood bounces into them like a rag doll, looking winded. Wood comes in blocking high and wends his left arm around Mundine's waist trying to clobber him with his right. Mundine is countering Wood on the way inside and then neutralizing him on the inside by pinning his arms. Jabs from Mundine when they break. Huge surge by Wood now, gets Mundine on the ropes! Several hard combos from Wood. Mundine eats a BIG right hand. Wood is just flipping out leather. The referee is furious with all the holding.

Wood stole that in the last thirty seconds, a lot of good body work.

 

Round 4

Wood hooks his way in, tapping the ribs of Mundine. Again Mundine shoves him back about a dozen paces, nearly into the ropes. Wood simply can't hold his ground for ****. Mundine lands a nice right hand counter. Wood flops forward and tries to hold, his balance shaky. The referee has his hands full trying to keep them broken up. Wood circles out wide, cleaving to the ropes. Mundine stalks. Mundine chases him to the ropes with a jab and then nimbly backs away parrying a counter attack by Wood. Now Wood turns it around and swarms Mundine into the opposite ropes. Body shots landing for Wood. Mundine lands a couple of jabs, misses a right hand, lands a right uppercut. Wood is turning back and forth between orthodox and southpaw. A lot of posing in the last twenty seconds. Mundine comes forward and bangs Wood above the belt line with a hard right hand.
