Ring IQ Highest/Lowest

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Indio-Bandido, Apr 13, 2011.

  1. Mayweather is probably the smartest boxer out there. The adjustments he makes are legendary. Marquez is near the top too. Katsidis has to be one of the dumbest. Mosley too. Margarito is pretty one dimensional. Care to add to the list?

Kirkland has shown very low ring IQ, so has Miranda.

You're confusing intelligence with instinct. Mayweather has proven himself to be an idiot, and it doesn't suddenly change the moment he starts boxing.

Has to be Bhop, at his age to still be a threat is something special.

I think Khan has to be one of the dumbest but makes him good to watch.

for all of khans talent he has NO ring generalship whatsoever...none, and people have been saying this since his early days as a pro. this is the main reason I never, ever see him beating Mayweather. also the reason I see McCloskey giving him problems this weekend.

I don't know if I would go so far. He's certainly not one-dimensional and has shown some good ad******g skills. However, he has so far always been athletically superior to his opponents.

I think B-Hop just stands out so much. This guy hasn't looked good in the ring in a looong time. He used to be a pretty agile and athletic fighter, but age caught up to him an eternity ago. And then he just went and replaced his fading athletic abilities with smarts and is still schooling the youngens to this day.

As for least IQ: I put up Tyson. One way. Go forward swinging. If that doesn't work, bite.

Katsidis has a horrible style. Basically throw him in with someone who is equal to him and can box, Katsidis will lose. Throw him in with a legend like Marquez...

  14. if that were true, he would have gotten on his bicycle after being rocked by mosley. he actually went against his instincts and kept coming forward completely throwing shane off his game. brilliant brilliant stuff.

Your smart if you lose your natural athleticism and can still win big fights. So BHOP rules the undsiputed champion of smartarseville. I think Barrera is a superb strategist also.
