after landing a new 3-year contract with Tommy Gilmour as reported in one of today's papers. I know Willie's been at the centre of much debate on here in the past but he's a sound bloke, an honest pro and I really hope that Gilmour can land him some proper title fights and get the guy back amongst it. He's a quality operator and didn't disgrace himself against Morales last time out. "He is capable of getting to the top of the game again. I am certain of it," said Gilmour. I hope so Tommy but lets not have hime wasting away on dinner shows at the Radission Hotel. Get him the fights he deserves :good
this is a good move for willie, maybe gilmour will get him the fights he needs. he got lee mcallister a shot at murray and the commonwealth belt. maybe he can get willie a shot at crolla for the british title
def a good move ! give him about 6 months before he can get involved in title scene ,he will need a fgew figths to shake off ring rust to be honest
Willie has very under-rated skills because he's mostly been a part-time pro for a lot of his career. I've always had a soft spot for him, I think he beats mcallister and crolla pretty easily. what do you mean by "subject of much debate lately"?
That performance against Morales doesn't look too bad does it. Morales might be the 3rd best light welter in the world.
willie needs to move on quicker imo, he is 32 and 4 years older than lee. he only has 2 years at the top of his game imo.
who does Gilmour handle?? Him vs McAllister would be nice on a Burns undercard. Shame Gallager ducked him for this weekend.
gilmour handles both of them now and i don't think tommy would let them fight on a promotion done by alex morrison and frank warren, he has ties with matchroom and barry hearn
