    10 years ago to the date exact (April 13th 2001) Hasim Rahman turned the heavyweight division upside down with the KO over Lennox Lewis.

    Lightning struck that night for the Thunder in Africa !

    Are there any other Rahman fans around this forum ? :think

    Rahman lost his heart after knocking Lewis out, he just wanted to fight Tyson for the right money and retire. Lewis used his slave contracts and high priced lawyers to force this shell of man back into the ring so he could paintbrush him, disgraceful. :bart

    I remember watching the fight and didnt even raise an eyebrow when I saw Lewis get laid out. He looked like he just woke up from a year long nap in that fight.

    Yes, Lewis was lethargic & had a lazy punch-output in Rahman I.

    Karcereno reckoned Rahman had something like 25-30million to rematch Lewis. Don King supposedly showed him a suitcase full of money, promised him more but Lewis's lawyers demanded the rematch and Rahman ended up making 2m or something like that, I could be off on a few of those points

    they both underestimated each other not just lewis in the ist fight rahman looked and seemed over confident in the run up to the rematch .

    Rahman couldn't find him in that 2nd fight as easily, Lewis had a good defensive guard indeed, and that combo KO was incredible!

    Rock actually wobbles him in the opening round with a nice body shot, that's about all that was impressive.
