The point is to rank the hardest-punching 1-punch KO artists of all time (avoi.d accumulation punchers like Zarate, Pacquiao, Frazier, Liston, Foreman, Dempsey etc)

My list (in no particular order):

Julian Jackson (if I had ranked them - he would probably be 1st)
    Thomas Hearns
    Gerald McClellan
    Joe Louis
Rocky Marciano (accumulation puncher to a certain degree, but could finish you with one blow)
    Mike Tyson
    Bob Foster
    Nigel Benn
    etc

Bob Fitzsimmons had the best one punch power of any fighter ever (at middleweight) but it is also up there at Heavyweight.

Sam Langford seemed to have amazing KO Power.

John L Sullivan's KO record (in his prime) will probably never be beaten. It is hard to tell without film, but what he did was simply amazing.

Stanley Ketchell might also be very high as a middleweight with his one punche KO power. I think these 4 represent the early era with distinction. And they may not have ever been passed, although Tyson would have to rank up there, i think he is a class above any finisher of recent times.

And of the current boxers, he is not an all time great, but Vic Darchinian has to be one of the hardest hitting little guys i have seen, isnt he?

Ray Robinson with just one fight (FullerII; well duh), and that punch qualifies as a top five pick.

I think irony comes to mind.

Benn was no one punch artist, but at his heavy punching prime, an accumulative clubber. There are not too many one punch specials on Benn's resume.

Even Eubank had Jarvis and the fight that made the Eubank pose famous; Dos Santos.

And neither was Wilfredo Gomez, which is why I didn't name him on my list.

  8. Marciano was never a puncher period. Knocking out glass chin 50 year old guys or mob controlled fighters doesnt impress.

    Julian Jackson.
    Roy Jones at middleweight
    Hearns at lighter weights
    Foreman period.

But can we all agree that in terms of pure 1-punch KO power nobody in history can compare to Julian Jackson.

Almost all his KOs were 1-punch KOs, not accumulation.

    Stanley Ketchel
    Bob Fitzsimmons
    Joe Louis
    Julian Jackson
    Tommy Hearns
    Gerald McClellan
    Mike Tyson
Ricardo "El Finito" Lopez (he didn't consistantly knock people on their butts off of one punch, but one punch would have them out on their feet and then he would finish them off. Very impressive for such a small fighter.)
    Felix Trinidad
Earnie Shavers (frightening how much damage he could do with one punch)
