Prime Curry see's all the wild punching Mugabi throws and easily slips 90% of Mugabi's crap while countering with crisp punches in return....

Mugabi might be strong enough to take Curry's power shots at 147 to 154, so I think Curry settles for the 12 rd. decision by a fairly wide margin...

I'm thinking the 1985 Curry who was 154 for his farce with James Green going against the John Mugabi who was TKOing Bill Bradley on ESPN for his last tune-up for Hagler....

    Curry wins...:deal:hat

the mugabi that fought hagler would beat the 154lb version of curry, but the mugabi after hagler would be a pickem.remember mugabi koed rene jacquot in one round the very next fight after jacquot upset curry.but curry did better against norris than mugabi did.

Curry looked bored in early 1989 in blowing his crown to Jaquot over 12 rds..... I have that fight off CBS....

Mugabi had one good title win in 1989 when he freakishly KO'd Jaquot in round 1.... After that, he too turned to **** himself....

1989 / 1990 is not a good time to compare the two in the ring... 1985 and 1986 is much better...

Beastly, but sloppy and rookie like as a technician.... Curry was a real pro prior to Honeyghan....

A good match...while it lasts. The bigger and stronger Mugabi would bash Don to ****.

Curry could win an easy decision, but it wouldn't shock me if Mugabi had him on the canvas at some point.

Matters which Mugabi came out. If John came out like he did against Harwood he would do ok. But if John gave Curry any counterpunching possibilities Curry would win by knockout in the mid rounds. The fact the fight would be at 154 might make a difference in John Mugabi's favor.

Prime Curry would dissect Mugabi after outboxing and outspeeding him for a couple of rounds..he'd stop Mugabi in 6. By the way...where the hell did that version of Curry go? What a shame, his relatively sudden decline.
