All aboard the RHODES SWEEPER

Looking forward to this one, Alvarez is nothing special IMO and I believe Rhodes could outbox him to a win if it's judged fairly.

 

Rhodes will put up a better perfromance than Matthe Hatton did but will still be beaten quite convincely... I'm not sure if it due to his looks or his connection with Golden Boy Promotions, but Saul Alvarez is teribly under-rated by too many people when he is going to be a very, very successful boxer.

 

Highly unlikely, I think people will be surprised how easily (and probably quickly) Alvarez wins

 

But surely that's a great foundation to build upon? When was the last time someone so young looked so good?

who from alvarez's record suggests he can beat rhodes??

btw i do think alvarez will win - i just dont believe it will be due to either fighters level of opposition to date

its also lucky alvarez vs hatton wasnt in a german style white ring as we wouldnt have been able to see either of the ****ers

Alvarez will beat up Rhodes imo. You can knock the kids record but he's been in tougher than Rhodes over the last few fights.

 

Big step up in class for Alvarez, he got wobbled by Cotto who is a podgy ex LW a year or so ago but hes probably stronger and more durable at this weight. This is his first real 154lber and 1 that will hit him hard from unorthodox angles too. I'd love to see Rhodes do it, Canelo probably will want to bounce back after a flat performance though

Are you not? I'd honesly put him in against Miguel Cotto right now and think he'd get a result as well... honestly.

 

Possibly. But I can't see him going on to beat Elite-level fighters at their peak.

Chuck him in with Angulo.

 

Now that would be an interesting fight... What about Paul Williams, at 154 of course? I think that'll be too soon but only just.
