What, as a fan, is the most painful loss you've ever seen a fighter suffer? That just wrenched at you in ways no other result has?

For me, its Taylor v. Chavez. I agreed with the stoppage, Rich did the right thing, but Mel was a terrific kid, a nice guy and a real role model, who trained so hard and put so much on himself...Who never sat on his talents and hungered for greatness as thoroughly as any champion ever. I thought he had the potential to be one of Philly's best ever, and when I watched him get all the potential literally beat out of him(I was in the 4th row, and saw every punch), I felt physically ill and needed the latrine.

I knew, in my soul, his legend and bright star had just been knocked out of the sky. Chavez, in my mind, has never seemed more formidable or unstoppable than he did that night. It didnt matter how much better the other guy was. Chavez at some point stopped fighting to win, and started fighting to destroy, making every shot count hideously. It worked wonders, cause he beat the man who schooled him half to death along the way.

Chavez/Rosario, the best one sided fight you could ask for.

Sadly, Rosario's misses made his young son watch the entire thing from ringside.

Duran v Hearns:yikes...that left me paralysed with shock. I was devastated, could'nt speak, i felt physicly sick, i was waiting for it to come on ITV World of sport at about 2.30pm on the Sat & about 30 minutes before it was due on i flipped channel to BBC to watch a horse race & i froze!!! Behind Des Lynam was a B/W blown up image of what appeared to be Tommies fist detonating onto Duran's jaw. Honest to god i thought i'd pass out!!!.....

I flipped channel rapid back to ITV & waited. My missis said whats up? nothing nothing i said, but that terrible sense of foreboding & terror now gripped my stomach, was that backdrop pic a montage knocked up by the art BBC art department??? i convinced myself it had to be!!! it just had to be!!! Some Leonard **** sucking **** did it for sure i thought!! yeh that was it!! The door bell rang & my mate came in (Who's a Hearns disciple + the treacherous **** already knew the result) he only came around to witness me go into mental & phsycal meltdown the twisted *******. Then ITV kicked in & i then witnessed the impossible happen & the destruction of my idol:dead

Duran v Joppy:-:)| I witnessed live at the Hilton & that left me in tears, i flew over out of loyalty to be there at the end which had to come sooner or later, but that was such a sad sad night to witness that wreckage. You could have heard a pin drop in that small side threatre at the Hilton, Around 2,000 showed up & no doubt all Duran disciples like myself & it was truamatic.

Ricky Hattons loses and also Nigel Benns - felt bad for them because they always gave their heart and souls

PS also gotta say Tyson-Holy II - i was with Tyson all the way I was so sick to death of Holyfield butting continuously - I was like if Holyfield want's to turn this into a street fight well he got what he deserved - bugged the hell out of me that one - actually understood Tyson's rage coz I was pretty much kicking lumps out of my TV hoping that Holy would get his ass kicked haha

Katsidis took a horrible battering the other night. I thought Calzaghe-Lacy was pretty bad, Lacy was being ruined in that 1 he must have shipped 1000punches

Jose Torres vs Willie Pastrano..after 6 rounds of torture, Torres finally puts Willie down for the first and only time in his career with a brutal left to the body. Pastrano actually got up and endured the rest of 7 and came out for 8..getting battered all the way..and the fight was sopped between rounds..TKO 9 for Torres.

I took that fight to heart too, but for different reasons.
I considered Holyfield and Tyson great warriors, and I knew Holy would win again. But I felt really disappointed by Tyson's behaviour.
Not just the bites, all the immature unmanly thuggery and crying he did post-fight.
I really felt cheated and let down, it really brought the sport down and it took me a long time to go back to liking Tyson afterwards.

Even Tyson admits now that he was a mess and the "butting" was just an excuse. He admits it was more an ego thing, he just couldn't handle Holyfield being better than him.

Frazier vs Ali III (I can't stand Ali almost as much as Frazier, and his disappointment over not being allowed to finish still hurts!)

Arguello vs Pryor II & Morales vs Pac III (A little sad because they lost, but seeing both of them struck with the realization that they could dig no deeper to affect the outcome was sad!)

Taylor vs Chavez (Not to debate the stoppage, but rather the joy of the start of the final rd. realizing that meldrick was the BEST....and in a matter of 2+ minutes seeing that all crumble)

Frazier vs Foreman I (I am not sure that even if Joe was at his best he could beat Foreman, but they way in which he got taken apart oh my)

    Pac-Morales III

seeing such a great fearless warrior like Erik sitting there looking helpless, and that empty look on his face...Very gut-wrenching.
