    He said NO to Limmond & Wright for Crolla as they were to big. His own words. The only reason Crolla is not fighting this weekend is Joe G.

    He has also been saying Murray won't fight Mitchell?

    He is a trainer and manager right??

    You think that Gallagher has any more say than any other trainer though?

    If Arnie had said to Frank before the McKenzie fight "He's too dangerous for Tony" would he have gone through with it?

    Limmond Crolla would be better than Limmond Murray. Murray really has to forget about domestic level fighters now if he wants to make any impression on the world stage. Crolla though is starting out at lightweight and a fight vs a solid top 5 British fighter would be excellent for his progreesion, especially as I reckon he would win impressively

    Dean Powell is Frank Warren's match maker and Poxon is Hatton's. It's their job to get opponents for the fighters. I know from experience that the trainers might get asked what they think, but ultimately the promoters / match makers make the fights. It's not down to Joe G...

    Poxton had deals agreed with Limmond and Wright. They has accepted the deal to fight Crolla this weekend? Why didn't those fights happen?

    I'm not saying he didn't, but don't think that he has the final say on any opponent or that he picks out any. He's no more special than the usual trainer in this sense.

    I'm not sure mate - we're all guessing aren't we unless you know for sure?? Perhaps Crolla has been offered something else bigger down the line? Perhaps he would have been given a choice - fight these guys now or fight someone else on the next show? Who knows.

    I'm with TFFP on this - I'm sure all trainers have a level of influence and Joe doesn't have any more or less than anyone else...

    Let's not discount the fighter in all of this too. They do have a choice often. It's not just down to the trainer.

    He clearly does. He has said he turned down those fights. The promoter has said they agreed the deal. Whats else do you need to know?
