    How much is McCloskey getting?

    How much is Primetime getting?

Unless they're working with Khan for free then no way does he come out with more than 200K on 50,000 buys.

    100K for McCloskey

Don't forget Gate Revenue.. Purses will be covered from that area as well. There's money coming in from different places, so obviously, it's hard to work out what's coming from where.

After VAT it is around £11, the production costs... hard to speculate as I have not really looked into what they are planning, but it won't be far off the £100K mark even on the cheap.

50K is very difficult to achieve. Khan's previous PPV buys don't really come into it (Which have all been well in excess of this). It's difficult because there is no marketing available.. and it is not on SkySports.. and more importantly it is all being done on 5 DAYS notice. The time being the biggest issue.

Think of it this way.. with weeks of preparation, the full marketing and hype machine of SkySports and all that they can do.. they felt it wouldn't sell to an acceptable level.. now imagine how much of a chance an independent like Primetime are going to have...

    I understand that.

I think his fanbase will pay up. Don't forget, this is PPV in Ireland. Are you saying no one will watch in Ireland then if there's 5K buys? 5K just sounds stupid.

We'll see when the figures emerge anyway.

I'm not defending it. If it makes more than Sky offered, then it won't have been a very stupid move, will it?

We'll see when the figures emerge anyway.

RT @AndyKerrtv: @EddieHearn "I respect Khan but feel he is being Mismanaged" Either his pitch to sign Khan to matchroom or he's making a dangerous man angry

It might sound stupid and although I personally believe it will do perhaps 20-30K. Because of the circumstance it isn't complete madness. Like I said, it isn't anything to do with the popularity of Khan or Mccloskey. It's purely because of marketing, they have neither time or money.

Getting people to buy PPV is actually quite difficult. You can get boxers who have huge fan bases into the hundreds of thousands, but the moment it comes to getting them to buy the event, their actual lives intefere - wives, kids, other things they are doing, plans. Getting them to book on a particular date whittles down the percentage who actually do it. This is why you have to aggressively market it, get it on SkySports news in the evening, get crews in the gym interviewing the boxers, all the stuff people that people on forums like this (who are more likely to buy without this pressure) groan at as over the top, you have to build it up and keep the pressure going right up until a few hours before the fight so that the person in question actually changes their plans for fear of missing something good

Not exactly professional to insult a co-promoter and potential future business associate publicly.

Saj might not have liked what Hearn had to say, but it was all strictly business and revenue related.

Well, I would have said the numbers (in Ireland) would have been decent (for Ireland) on Sky PPV, but on Primetime I'd say it'll take a huge hit. Lots of people have UPC cable, which doesn't have Primetime. I dont have it, loads of my mates don't have it. Was listening to a sports show last night who had Bunce on talking about the fight, and they were getting texts wondering what the hell Primetime was.

The point is that in the long term, even if they make more on Primetime, it's a stupid move.

Who is going to watch him on Primetime? His own fans, and hardcore boxing fans, who already know about him.

They could have got great numbers flicking over after the soccer to watch it, it could have been on in bars for the Saturday night crowd. If the fight was great he could have made a 100k more fans for his next PPV.

He supposedly coming back to the UK to increase his profile now that he has a title, and the fight will come and go and casual fans will barely know it will have happened. He's not going to achieve Ricky Hatton levels of success making decisions like this.

well it depends if khan has burned his bridges with sky over this move.

khan vs bradley on Sky PPV will make more than khan vs bradley on primetime PPV, simply because of the marketing power of Sky.

remember that out of the revenue they have to pay the undercard, pay any venue costs such as policing etc, pay primetimes costs, pay mccloskey, pay roach et al.

khan will be making **** for this.
