Gotta be sceptic with a boxer who's considered shot at 23.

Vitali faced merely a single ATG heavy and lost competitively. Tyson's faced a couple ATGs but was dominated mostly so how does that tell us Tyson would crush Vitali when his resume tells otherwise?

However, I won't take away Tyson's knockout over Holmes. That was a legitimately fine win not only considering who he beat but how. Years later Holmes went on to go the distance with Holyfield.
And yet, Vitali's nothing like Holmes or Spinks so we still have no clue on how that would have played out proving he wasn't that faded in '88.

Can anyone of you guys see Vitali being scared or intimidated by Mike? Winning the fight on a psychological level was a crucial factor of Tyson's success and dominance in the 80's and once the code was cracked by tough SOBs like Douglas or Holyfield Mike never emerged victorious after a significant fight.

I think Tyson's History has been re-written by lots...prime Tyson intimidated some but not all...Mitch Green certainly wasn't intimidated, Neither was Tony Tucker, Frank Bruno didn't freeze in the first fight Jose Ribalta didn't freeze and Tyrell Biggs was cocky until hit....Tyson took an amazing punch whilst with rooney and fought on the opponents chest, working inside....Douglas didn't crack the code...he caught a flat-footed undertrained Tyson would been partying in Tokyo instead of putting in the Hard work. As for Tyson being shot at 23...I disagree. He was Shot after prison...pre prison was on the slide due to not slipping shots...not using the peekaboo style that cus and rooney drummed into him.....Tyson against Vitali...definite UD at the very least for Iron Mike:bbb

    Tyson Hater.....no objectivity = bias.

It's all well and good saying that Tyson's only notable wins were against Holmes and Spinks and that spinks was just a LHW...but this is the same Holmes that went the distance with Holyfield years later and the same spinks that KO'd Gerry Cooney a year earlier. Who are the biggest names on Vitali's record?? Shannon Briggs?? The same Briggs who was destroyed nearly a decade ago by Lewis...Chris Byrd?? Danny Williams?? Ross Purity?? After Vitali got his ass handed to him by Lewis..he's fought 10 times against the poorest set of challengers the heavyweight world has seen! American TV wont touch the division...Vitali and Wlad havre shared the likes of Sam Peter who was beaten by the middleweight James Toney...and I'm sure Hasim Rahman is due another shot!
It's very easy to pick Holes in the brothers records, moreso than Tyson, but in answering the question prime for prime Vitali or Tyson...I think there's more than enough evedence that Tyson would've been to busy and would have won by UD

Hehehehe Tomato cans.....Julius Francis OAP Jose Ribalta Dicky Ryan Orlin Norris Vaughan Bean??????? Lewis Tore Vitali a new ******* and he's been fighting bums ever since...Albert who??? :bbb

    this...^

not to mention the 'intimidation factor'. Vitali is never scared. Tyson was a mental miget. Not saying Vitali by KO round 1 like most morons do for Tyson, but i definitetly think Vitali could beat him...

I'm no big Klitschko booster, but, based on what I saw over the years, I got to think that Tyson would have trouble with the big Ukranian. Klitschko, for one thing, would not be intimidated by the smaller Yank. He'd stick his pole-axe of a left in Tyson's face and gradually wear him down.

    Styles make fights.

Vitali by a TKO/Late Stoppage. Tyson wouldn't be able to INTIMIDATE DON VITO, no one would. And we all know how well Tyson did against fighters that weren't afraid of him.

PS: Stop bringing up Lewis being rusty and blah blah

Vitali had 2 weeks to train for Lewis. Lewis claimed to be in the best shape of his life before he took the fight, coming off a win over a faded Mike, and then after the win on cuts, he suddenly changed his tune and claimed he was at his worst.

Problem is, Tyson in his prime wasn't all about intimidation, thats a complete myth.
He had a great offense that built on defense, and behind that defense he had an iron chin.

This one goes to the cards, I think it'd be a competetive fight.

Not hating at all...just giving an opinion and if chris Byrd can beat Vitali or if Vitali can quit against Byrd...then what the heck would Tyson have done to him???

Where on earth have I ever said that Tyson would destroy Vitali in 2 rounds??? Vitali never hit harder than Tyson...freddie roach was asked who hit harder and he stated that Klitscho did hit slightly harder than a 38 yr old Tyson not the 20 yr old dinamo that was terrorising the division in the 80's.

In all seriousness and using pure objectivity Vitali couldn't KO a shot shannon briggs, went the distance with Kevin Johnson, had trouble with corrie sanders, and on this evidence alone would never destroy Tyson....I see a Tyson UD as I've said in my previous posts. That's prime for prime both fighters in my head. The fact that David Haye is deemed as a suitable challenger to BOTH brothers shows me the level of todays challengers compared to the past. Having said that They can only deal with what's infront of them and are capable fighters.:bbb

Tyson easily gets overrated by those people who simply just like his style and enjoy watching his fights, but refuse to see the fact that he DID struggle against much taller opponents, and not to forget that none of these tall opponents he beat in his prime was on Vitalis level! I just cant see Tyson beat Vitali by points, but he could catch him early and stop him! But the right outcome of this fight would probably be that Vitali survives the early rounds and stops a frustrated Tyson inside 7-8 rounds.. or maybe later

Bone Crusher Smith and Tony Tucker wasn't on Vitali's level??? Now who knows nothing about boxing!! lol

As I said before, the fact that David Haye is seriously being talked up as a challenger against BOTH brothers should tell everyone about the standard of the Heavyweight division end of!!:bbb
