oh yeah, that was around the time Arum was sweet-talking Floyd and wasn't blaming him for lack of urge and for all his legal troubles.

Well Alvarez was only paid 350K in his last fight. They will use Cotto as a stepping stone for him. He's not yet a proven PPV star. I doubt Cotto would get more than he would against Margo (he was gauranteed 3 million, made a likely 6-7 million all up the first fight). He'd get another 10-15 for Pac. The rematch would be risky, but should sell a million again. He won't make more than that against Mayweather.

Floyd and Manny should face all of each other's opponents before they fight, I think. I would also like Mayweather/Torrecampo and Pacquiao/Castillo.

I do think arum will use a pac rematch to lure miguel into staying with toprank.

Didn't Cotto marg only do 400ppv sales?

If $ fights Cotto, they could probably hit 1.6milPPVs.

They gave Shane Mosley, the guy with zero PPV buying fans, $7mil gurantee to fight $. Cotto could easily command more than that fighting $.

Cotto owns a few successful businesses in pr.

I'm sure he has enough experience to know that fighting $, the biggest name in the sport, will pay him more than a rematch with a guy who completely whooped his AZZ.

Then they should speak up, if floyd comes out in public saying he wants cotto as a tune up, im pretty sure miguel will want it, he said recently that he wants big money fight, and considered martinez if the money was right.
But if nothing happens we can assume he is fighting margarito next.

i disagree, if there's a fight out there that Arum would make in a heartbeat, its this one. he'll stand to make big money and wouldn't lose a thing. Cotto has been beaten already and if he lose to floyd, the margo fight still remains feasible. the only question is would floyd do business with Arum and give him the chance to make money off his name?

People said the same thing about JMM before he fought $, there really is too big a difference in class between the 2 IMO.
