Nick Diaz done with MMA has signed to fight Fernando Vargas!!!

  1. Well I guess we'll see what a shot-ass Feroz does with him. If Diaz can beat Vargas in his 2nd boxing match ever, hey... step his competition up and see how he fairs.

One concern though... He's sick of MMA because of the "tireless dedication required?" Does he plan on going at the world championship level or just stay in 6 rounders?

  2. I'm kinda on board with this. In fact... They should feed Diaz to Pavlik. Sacrificial lamb just like Toney vs. Couture.

He should get a Martinez fight. Martinez would become a Boxing legend!

    ****...

Pavlik vs Diaz would be even more brutal than Martinez vs Diaz.

It would be a highlight reel KO.

Diaz has legit boxing skills...he just modifies it for MMA. Diaz is a tireless machine like PAC. He's obviously not the best boxer ever but he can win some fights if he's matched right. It will take time for Diaz to fully transition to a boxer but he's got the talent, mentality and will to be great...or at least very good. I welcome Diaz in boxing. It hink Vargas or Lacy would be a good move that he could potentially win. Martinez is really not an option.

i dont mind guys switching sports. thats fine to me, i don't understand this whole boxing vs mma thing. i hate ufc but mma in general boxers can participate. anyways boxings early beginnings where similar to what mma fights are now before queensbury. notice how the BJJ dudes are dwindling and the strikers are resorting to jabs and crosses. there p4p numero uno is arguably a boxer by style.

if diaz thinks it is an easy route then he is gonna get ****ed up.
nick diaz needs to have a go against a real professional and see how dedicated you have to be. darnell boone is a personal fav journeyman but he was awful when he started. when he switched trainers but at the same gym in ohio he started to be more of a hustler and used his technical ability's see the lujuan match for example. anyways. he should have a go and be humbled.

it sort of reminds me of when ken shamrock went into pro wrestling as a way of taking a break form mma, while also being paid......sadly he didn't know that pro wrestlers are doing 'fake' fights 300 days a year. and actually being put on to a mat hard. he got broken and beaten up in those 3 years or so.

This punches around the 04:00 min mark of that video are absolutely pathetic and a good example of the typical MMA punch, I hope he has something better than that to work with if he fancies going up against a Mayorga or Vargas

    Nevermind a f'kin Martinez!!

I'd like to see him test himself against an Alan Green type, though maybe have an easier warm up first.

Mayorga would **** him up, he's delusional. Let alone Martínez.

Smaller gloves makes a HUGE differnce bro. You don't need to put a lot of steam on your shots...It's easier to find your mark and you still create damage if you are technically sound.

He can probably beat Vargas at this point...maybe Lacy too.... but Vargas and Martinez are out of his league right now. I wouldn't sleep on Diaz...... A LOT Has to be said for his mental edge as a true fighter. He's like James Toney....the kid simply knows how to fight...wether its int he cage or ring, e can get down. Like I said...he needs the right fight to avoid what happened to james when he got humilated by Randy. someone with a good name, who's on his way out or already out would be a good fight for Diaz.

I think you meant Mayorga in one of those.

I agree with that but James was nuts too ASKING for Randy....You live and learn. Diaz proably thinks and feels he could be martinez but we all know he can't....Just like most knew Randy would take Toney to the ground and beat him in his world. Diaz's team won't make that same mistake. Diaz talking like he is only helps promote his move which is good.

Good catch!:good I did....Mayorga is still a dangerous fighter and would **** Diaz up good in a brawl.. I'd actually love to watch that fight.
