Roy Jones V mike Tyson 2003-05

Well Ruiz was never a big puncher i'm not sure that is indicative of Roy's punch resistance, he is also the only heavyweight that Jones ever beat, and lets be honest Ruiz did not move well.

Tyson still had decent movement, speed and power for the early rounds, mix that in with Jones' propensity to retreat to the ropes and you have a knockout waiting to happen.

 

Like i said, Tyson has a puncher's chance in the first few rounds but i got RJ winning a wide UD. He's just way too fast of both hand speed and foot speed and he still had his amazing reflexes. Not to mention, he was still confident.

 

Tyson was overweight and crippled by this point, totally blowing out his knee throwing a simple punch against Williams in the first round. Jones wouldn't stop him, but in a very sad night for boxing he would could pot shot his way against the one legged Mike for a dull decision. The Tyson of the Cliff fight should be able to walk him down if his body holds up long enough to make chase.

 

Tyson was shot to Dantes Inferno by this time. Jones by tko,inside 5 rounds.

 

Jones of the Ruiz fight likes a shot Mike up like a Christmas tree and knocks him out in 8 or 9, if Tyson doesnt quit earlier ala McBride and Williams.

 

Jones was around 70-80 lbs. less than Williams or McBride. He won't be able to take punishment while posturing off the ropes. This isn't Bryant Brannon in there he's dealing with.

 

If it was a street fight....Tyson gets out of his car...Jones gets out of his car.....
Tyson delivers left, right, left punches.

Tyson gets back in his car and leaves & the EMT is called to come take Jones to the Hospital.

A boxing match would be no different.

 

Tyson is my second favorite fighter of all time, but IMO Tyson from Williams/McBride couldn't handle RJJ. vs Etienne Tyson was in pretty good condition, so that would be 50/50 fight.

I love RJJ , BUT NO VERSION OF rjj BEATS AN 86 TO 88 VERSION OF tYSON

 

Even that version of Mike walks thru Jones... I just dont think Jones can take even a somewhat half ass shot from Tyson... Tyson wont respect him either and will know that he cant let Jones get into a groove.... Even if Roy did make it out the early rounds he would pretty much have to get on his bike so much that they might disqualify him. I dont see him taking enough chances to stop Mike either.
