If Berto beats Ortiz, Pac should fight Berto. I am afraid even @ 140, Marquez is past his prime, and Pac would take full advantage of that @ this point in their careers. Pac is bigger and stronger than Marquez since the last time they fought.

The sticking point here is the 140 or no deal, as you've stated. I, along w/ a lot of fans like you, want to see this fight @ 140 for competitiveness sake but IMO, this won't happen. Pac won't appease JMM by going down to 140. Why should he?

That is a ? Arum will have to ask himself. Should I allow this fight at 140 or miss the opportunity this fight will make $$$ and lose JMM to GBP...who Would I match PAC with then? It's a bushiness and arum will have to weigh the options.

They don't usually have to appease anything I agree with that, but now that they don't have many options, and JMM does add the fact how much money it would bring in with Mexican customers plus trilogy = to much $$$. Puts Marquez in a good place to stick to his guns and demand this only main demand.

If JMM sticks to his guns, he can have this fight at 140 with some calculated moves. If Arum wins, JMM will probably accept a 144 weight. I do hope JMM sticks to his guns but knowing him well he would accept 154 just to have this fight because PAC is to scared to at least give him 140.

I think this is in the pipeline and believe it or not I think Pacquiao could be considering taking the fight at 140Lbs ....

Pacquiao has been quoted recently as saying his optimum weight is 140Lbs .... could this be a sign he is moving there to fight Marquez should Mayweather not man-up ??

I rate this a 90% chance this fight will happen should Floyd not step up ..

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that JMM was already back w/ GBP. Anyway, there's no doubt that this fight will bring in a lot of money. I also believe that JMM will accept a catchweight fight @ WW. but if he sticks to a demand of 140 or nothing, he can forget about fighting Pac.

That is how business is won. That is his best leverage for a fight...It's up to Arum and what he would gain $$$ for this weight. If they are certain in Pac's abilities and the demolishment of Marquez... 140 should be a walk in the park.

But but but...I thought Arum said JMM is too small to fight Pac at 147?

My, I wonder what has changed in the last 30 days?:think

Arum will make a lot of money @ a catchweight also. Casual fans, who makes up the bulk of PPV, wouldn't see the difference. Arum, will make his money and make JMM go past 140 because he knows JMM will accept it. Pac/JMM @ 144 is more likely to happen.

True but for it to be at 144 JMM has to agree. And if he stick to his guns at 140 he may very well get it.

As JMM has much more options. Arum does not.

IMO, Arum has more options when it comes to a possible Pac/JMM bout because he knows that JMM wants this fight badly.

I highly doubt Pac will fight at 140 again.

For legacy sake is why you risk it.......

For boxing historians the fight at 147 lbs does'nt enhance Pacquiao's legacy one ounce, and the two previous fights will still be looked upon as the true indicators of how both fighters match up against eachother p4p.

The closer the third fight is to their natural weight, the more legacy points Pacquiao gains.

......at 147 lbs, this fight becomes a free shot for Marquez to gain massive legacy points.
Marquez beats or is even competive vs Pacquiao at 147 lbs, and he's going to be looked upon as the better fighter historically because he was fighting way out of his weight class.

The reason for Pacquiao to come down to 140 lbs to fight Marquez is that he has zero to gain and everything to lose legacy speaking even with a noncontroversial win vs Marquez.

Pacquiao and his *******ed cronies should think about that........that I know of, only one man in that whole Pacquiao camp wants Pacquiao to fight Marquez at 140 lbs, and thats Alex Ariza......Freddie Roach knows better and is adamant the fight take place at 147 lbs.

......I guess for Roach, he's much to afraid to take on Marquez at a weight thats comfortable for both, that he does'nt care about legacy points when its in the back of his mind that Pacquiao may probably lose to Marquez at 140 lbs.:deal

The vibe is there from the *******s all over in this forum. They know Pacroid can make 140 lbs with ease, but would prefer to have their own mind at ease by having the fight take place at 147 lbs.

The ******* mindset is, who give a **** about legacy points as long as Pacquiao puts Marquez at the most extreme disadvantage that he can.

Let me tell you clowns something.
Pacquiao insisting this matchup take place at 147 lbs is 10X worse than Erik Morales stipulating to Pacquiao in their first fight they both wear Winning gloves.
.....something Pacroid to this day continues to frown over.

First, Marquez is in no position to DEMAND terms, he can only make "requests". He is not the draw. His recent fights showed dismal numbers. 5m guarantee. WTF! We've seen this before, eventually fighting Chris John for chump change halfway across the world, only to lose. JMM knows Arum...? Businesswise JMM is a bum. He is on the tail end of his career, Arum is just teasing him along with GBP. Just letting the bitterness sink in.

If Marquez does'nt have any leverage, why is Arum stating, "Marquez is probably next."

Marquez is the money fight for Pacquiao.....and just wait when the Pac-Mosley dissapointing PPV numbers come in.:lol::lol::lol::deal

Arum has currently stated Pac-Mosley will break PPV records.:rofl:rofl:rofl:nut:nut
