Well did Pavlik learn how to do anything other than double up the jab yet??

Same thing happens and actually a MArtinez stoppage would not be out of the question this time. He almost made Pavlik quit the first time and now that he has been working on power he will be landing even more thudding shots.

    Booradley you need a girlfriend.

I would like to see Pac vs Pavlic at 152 so the haters can shut up about manny only fighting past prime fighters.

Martinez keeps calling out opponents like Mosely, Cotto, Pac, and Floyd who all belong at either welterweight or junior welterweight. His supporters justify that by claiming he deserves a big pay day. So far you guys are avoiding the real question. Why is it okay for Sergio to call out smaller guys for a big pay day, but it's not okay for him to add a mere 6 pounds for a big pay day?

Yeah, I totally agree w/ Boo on this. From a business perspective and
the fact that sergio is up there in years, it makes sense for him to rematch kelly. There was a rematch clause, but it didn't stipulate weight
and maravilla has NO viable options to make a 7 figure payday but pavlik.
I see dibella taking this fight w/ pavlik as it will be the most $ sergio has ever made, or probably ever will make in his career. However, i beleive if
he wants to stay in the winner's circle then he should avoid this fight. A 166 lb rehabbed kelly at even 90% beats martinez at 166lbs. Kelly looked dead the entire fight in their 1 st fight, and didn't have his **** together at all. P4P martinez is a better fighter, but a healthy kelly is just too big,
strong and powerful for sergio. Dibella should just take about 3 fights at
middleweight to get sergio paid 3-4 million over the next 18 months and
then call it a career. I really don't see him beating kelly at supermiddle.

Pavlik made it crystal clear that he wants Martinez at 166 pounds. There is little doubt that KP could be ready in September, and that is when Martinez plans to fight next.

Sergio's team is currently talking to Peter Manfredo, former MMA star Nick Diaz, Nobuhiro Ishida, Sebastian Zbik, and Julio Ceasar Chavez jr. They are not talking to or about Kelly Pavlik.

Just yesterday Sampson Lewkowicz, Sergio's world renowned adviser, said that Martinez feels better, stronger, and healthier at the higher weight than he did at 154. Nevertheless, Team Martinez did not start talking to real middleweights until after a long list of welterweights and junior welterweights refused to take Martinez seriously.

Team Martinez also openly scoffed at the idea of Sergio fighting above 160. Apparently it is okay for smaller guys to give up 15 or 20 pounds against Martinez, but it is not okay for Martinez to add just 6 pounds to a weight where he feels "better, stronger, and healthier" than he did in his previous division.

In addition, nearly the entire boxing world consistently claims that Pavlik "never looked good above 160." With Kelly coming off a win over an undefeated contender in May the money for Pavlik/Martinez II would be available, and no doubt represent a career high pay day for Sergio. All Sergio has to do is agree to fight a guy he already beat once at a weight where the guy "never looked good."

If there is a logical reason for Team Martinez to ignore this opportunity, I'd like to know what it is.

Exactly, he could have had that fight already, he didn't really want any part of Sergio again, Pavlik to me is not better at 168 than 160, remember that BHop ass kicking? I'm saying this as a fan of the man too, but he's really not a top guy, jab jab right hand won't get it done with really top guys. His best win was the first Taylor fight, if Taylor could finish, that fight would have been over in 2, still a great fight, I wish Kelly the best but he has a long way to go back to big money and Martinez, he better just concentrate on the task at hand for now.

I would like to see Kelly get in there and show us he renewed vigor. After that? Bring it on. Great fight for both men.

Exactly. But he has to show me something first before I think he deserves a rematch.

Kelly can take him especially at that catchweight so he's not horribly weight drained. He was rallying against Martinez before the cuts, improve his stamina by not being so thin and he can win for sure in my book.

Sergio got the opportunity from Pavlik, so why not make the rematch happen? There aren't that many opponents at 160 for him either. Pavlik has to look good in May though.

Why is he calling out Cotto and Pac when all the good fights are at 168 and Martinez is right about that size? :patsch
