his defense isnt the greatest, but he's less easy to hit then people put on . A lot of those right hands ppl think he's getting hit with he's blocking and parrying, they just dont notice it in that split second.

He's way less hittable then he used to be back when he was a wild slugger.

I think Pac can be pretty hard to hit when he wants to be but he elects to get into wars, thats just what he likes to do . Watch the DLH fight to see him showing a pretty good defense - lots of head movement, blocking/picking off shots, getting in & out of range, etc.

You do know that Manny got punch 229 times against Margarito, right?

It's only a matter of time before Pac gets exposed in the ring, there is a reason he keeps cherry picking shot brawlers these days.

Depending on the fight, James Toney could dish out hundreds upon hundreds of accurate punches on an opponent because he was a counterpunching machine at his best. And he definitely wasn't as easy to hit as Pac is.

So it's really not all about volume, it's clear that you can have a high punch output and still be very defensive-minded as a fighter. It just suggests that for whatever reason, lack of skill/lack of upper body reflexes, Pac is easier to hit than the average elite level fighter.

No he does not block and parry the right hands. His guard does not defend against the right hand. His head movement, and movement in general keeps him away from shots. But he is very hittable with that right hand, anyone who is capable with the right hand anyway.

emmanuel's stance is all wrong in the pocket. That's why he eats uppercut sandwiches like subway's 2 for $5 specials.

he smothers those uppercuts and they are not very effective.

He certainly does a better job than Khan. But he is open to the uppercut on the inside.

yea he is open but they are smothered and not very effective. You can be open to a punch but if you take away it's effectiveness then that's still a form of defence.

Depends who throws them. Clottey was the last guy who threw them against Pacquiao. He was effective in a way, but he put no power in to his shots. Pacquiao stood there and accepted the uppercuts at times (and he wasn't testing Clottey's power). He couldn't avoid them. And I've seen more examples of Pacquiao walking into uppercuts. So really, I don't see the smothering, at all...at times? Maybe...
