I'd make Frazier the favourite in all of those fights. I think he matches up very well with all of those guys.

I disagree with this one. Hearns would undoubtedly beat Duran more often at ww than Duran would beat him, but a Duran win is by no means out of the question in a series.

They fought at lmw, where Duran was worse than he was at ww and where IMO Hearns was better than he was at ww.

Obviously making the fight at ww makes it different from lmw, even if not radically so.

The Duran of the Palomino & Leonard 1 fights would not be a stick-on loser 10 times out of 10 to ANY welterweight that's ever lived, never mind Tommy Hearns. He was too good for that. Sure there are guys that would beat him more often than not, but he wouldn't be a whipping boy/wooden spoon for anyone.

To my mind, this scenario is similar to Pernell Whitaker at welterweight. Pea, like Duran, was natural to lw not ww, but much like Duran hit the heights at ww vs Palomino & SRL, Whitaker did the same at ww in the second McGirt fight and the Chavez fight. Pea may have lost more often than not to the likes of Robinson and Leonard, but he would have been no-one's "mismatch".

I don't think anyone can say with any certainty that Hearns would have whitewashed any ww who carried a punch, because we all know of his fragility there. Just like Hagler & Barkley got to him at mw and Leonard got to him at ww, ATG fighters at ww would get to him, maybe not every time, but sometimes for sure.

I agree with you, Wlad has amazing uppercuts and a fearless style with a great chin, just like Foreman.

He will throw hard uppercuts, take everything Frazier throws, and not take a step back.

Oh wait, Wlad can't throw an uppercut, fights scared as hell, and has no chin.

Then it's a good thing he's being matched against somebody, who in the very least, has as bad a chin as he does, then, isn't it?

As evidenced through the rematch with Peter,Wlad can throw damaging uppercuts.Peter used as much pressure and head movement to trouble Wlad, but it didn't work. His efforts to force Wlad to fight and wear him out only resulted in him taking a severe beating.

if frazier can gain 10-12 pound without sacrificing anything, I agree with this. Lennox struggled with a joe frazier type fighter in mercer

but i just think a 200 pound frazier would be just too small to be effective
