If fights of the year and heart are a measuring stick than I say yes but as far as accomplishments go its hard to say yes ..

I definitely think so. He may not be an ATG, but he was one of the most popular guys in modern boxing.

Well people bring a strong case saying that Stallone is in. He played a fictious character in Balboa yet got in the hall lol. Rocky actually drew many casual fans and with Stallone being involed in the Contender series I'm not surprised he got in. Gatti brought one of the greatest fights of all time with Ward(1st, rest are overrated) and always gave his all until the end. He IS what Balboa portrays: a true warrior who always gave his all and brought great entertainment with many fans. Saad, a fighter I respect dearly too, is another example of this and had a championship reign beating very good names to get in the hall. Gatti was never on Saad's level but is cut from the same cloth as him and should be respected throughout boxing history for his courage and few big achievements in the ring. Gatti will get in the hall and DESERVES to go accordingly. RIP "Thunder".

Not to rain on parades but exciting fighters shouldn't get a pass to go to the hall just because they're exciting. I give much respect to those who go in and give what they can despite what style they have it just happens that Gatti has been a big part of boxing and has the "fame" part in HOF. Along with being a world champ and being highly respected by every legit fan and being in 4 FOTY's, that's enough to get him in the hall.

    No.

It sucks saying it but if i was voting on it and took into consideration his accomplishments i would be forced to say no. He was a hell of a showman so he would definitely be considered but no.

Im not a hater i actually had his trilogy with Ward and watched it almost every weekend on Fridays after work with a 6 pack. Im just telling it like it is.

A few years ago I would have said no, but if Barry McGuigan and Sly Stallone get in , Gatti most definately should get in. So, Yes he should. Ward I would probably say no.

People seem to think that Gatti didn't achieve much in the ring. However, the man was a 2 division World Champion. You take a 2 division world champion and then add in all of the amazing fights and moments that Gatti gave boxing.... and you have a sure Hall of Fame fighter no matter how much "better" the HOF would be.

The HOF isn't only for a couple of the greatest fighters ever. The HOF is for fighters who deserve to be remembered.

Being a 2 division world Champion isn't an accomplishment? How can you combine being a 2 division world champ, along with all of his amazing fights, and still not be hall of fame worthy?
