McCloskey the new WBA Champion?

if mccloskey can take khans best he has a small chance and thats a big IF !

Boxing isnt as black and white as you like to belive . upsets happen a lot of the time look at what happened last week morales was written off by 99.99% of people and he nearly won. it should have been a draw imo

I watched a big of McCloskey this morning and I actually think he looks pretty tastey. He will be the slickest fighter Amir has faced, the angles he uses, his radar defense and footwork are all very good, his power is a bit underrated too. Having said that he is a little open and he has had some close fights with men Khan would dominate, although Lauri/Lynes are good Euro level opponents. I think he's a better boxer than Malignaggi and Kotelnik for sure with more power than both, Khan's chin looked better against Maidana but he will be taking punches from angles. So I give McCloskey a chance and think he maybe a challenge but even if its a close fight Amir will get the nod

He has better power than Khan. Khan swarms but has never cleanly knocked out an opponent. Ive never even seen him stun anyone. McCloskey has some proper knock outs on his record.

 

I genuinely dont think you can read. Either that or you find it hard to tell the difference between supporting a fighter and picking who you think will win a fight....

 

Yes, because it's the amound of KOs on records which determine who has more power. In which case, Malignaggi has more power than Khan, because he has actually KO'd someone.

 

its boxing so he could win but fights shouldnt be based on that.

the underdog story is probably the worst thing in boxing. if there was never a heavy underdog we would be enjoying competative 50-50 match ups all the time.

 

Having the ability to knock someone out or atleast stun them determines power. How does swarming someone to a stoppage have anything to do with power.

Amir has speed and skill but he hasnt shown massive power. The best power shot Ive seen from him is that body shot in the Maidana fight. Apart from that its all be TKOs.

 

I like seeing this a decent Euro fighter stepping up and fighting a world class fighter .This year we've had Burns Casey Booth Munroe Mitchell now this and Clev to step up as well .
