Been saying this for a long time now.

Props to Victor Ortiz, this was a huge showing for him.

The best part of the night was Lou DiBella, Floyd Mayweather and HBO getting punked. It doesn't get any better than that, folks.

HBO, you thought you were going to get that BS Mayweather-Berto fight and pretend Berto was legit as Floyd rolled over him. Nope; Ortiz got him first. LOL!!! :rofl

What's your problem with Lou DiBella?

Treated Hopkins like sh*t around the Taylor fights. Can't stand the guy; he's a punk. Was thrilled to see him crushed tonight as he sat there.

I'm not aware of that incident. He's just passionate about his fighters. If you have a problem with him, then you must dislike every promoter.

It was the perfect night on HBO: House fighter hype job beaten; possible "super fight" involving Floyd to save HBO Boxing's ass derailed; Company Man Lampley scrambling to try to cover for Berto's failings until it was obvious who was better; DiBella clowned: Mayweather and Fitty basically punked as they were there to set-up the Berto fight.

Doesn't get ANY better than that. :good

I expected this from you always quick to bash the black fighter. With that said I agree. Berto inability to fight on the inside and lack of defense cost him. The truth is the guy is nothing but a slugger with speed his boxing skills are suspect

DiBella's an a-hole, at least as concerns Hopkins at that time. I like Hopkins, but DiBella was just being a whiny biotch at that point if memory serves. He might be a decent guy, I just can't stand him for the stuff around Hopkins at that time involving Hopkins, Taylor and HBO.

Has nothing to do with what color the fighter is. I dont like hype-jobs -- especially HBO ones -- of any stripe. If you read the rest of the thread, you'll see I can't stand a white guy (DiBella) because I feel he screwed over a black guy (Hopkins).

At some point, you'll get past this with me. But we'll hang in until you reach that point.

You're right though: Berto is a guy with good speed and power, very suspect chin and overall skills. Always was. Been saying this for a long time.

Why do you think Floyd wanted to fight him? Easy mark.

Ortiz was more underrated than Berto was overrated. That's for sure.

Berto is flawed out the ass. He has way to many tech flaws. I knew Ortiz was going to win for two reasons- 1. Ortiz was hungry and 2. Berto isn't battle tested. Ortiz need to prove people wrong and he did it. Who has Berto fought? He fought Collazo (he lost that fight). Besides him, who has Berto fought? No one.

not really overrated, more unproven and overhyped due to the number of haters Pac has. he was not yet rated a top pound for pound fighter, or even close to it. he looked for soft touches his last two fights, ignoring his mandatory and a challenge from cintron, and it's backfired on him.

Agree on this. :good Ortiz was buried after Maidana like Vitali was after Byrd. Big mistake.

    Agreed -- excellent post! :good

Ortiz was super hungry for this fight, as he told Larry afterwards. He would not be denied.
