Your right ortiz does like to brawl... But you just cant bang with a barbarian (maidana)... It all depends on victors gameplan!

I personally think you should man up and admit you made the wrong prediction. Ortiz fought the type of fight you thought he should but wouldn't.

but hey really it don't matter.

He just had the right mindset. He knew what he wanted and that he could get it and wasn't going away with anything else. I really hope he can keep that mentality-although, like I said, I'm skeptical. Hopeful, but skeptical.

I can certainly see that too, except I think Berto is less talented than a Judah but more determined. Maybe when I watch it again I'll see it differently but I thought that's what I was seeing from him last night. He wanted to pull it off but he just didn't have the ring IQ to know how to adjust to Ortiz. He wanted it but he didn't know how to get it.

Really? I was thinking that might be a good matchup for Ortiz especially now that hes moved up.. Im a Bradley fan too, and i like the way he can adapt to diffrent styles... But he tends to mix it up.. I think eventually after giving Ortiz problems that he resorts to his love for battle. That would be a mistake at WW i think ORtiz would ko him if he did that... Bradley has enough power to get guys at JW respect, but if he gets in a shoot out hes in trouble. Bradley has good skills but hes not slick and he doesnt have the power to keep ORtiz in check.

Event though i said Bradley could give ORtiz problems during the fight.. Ortiz isnt exactly a one dimensional bomber... HE has good skills himself.. Add the big equilazer to it and that could be the diffrence.

Call me biased, but I would like to see Malignaggi-Ortiz--this fight was proposed at one time @ 140...Either Paulie gets stopped late, and gets beat up in the process, or Ortiz gets thoroughly outboxed...

At 147 Ortiz looks at his comfortable weight.. HE dropped him a gang of times at 140.. .. Maidana might not get up from this stronger harder hitting version.. .. Although hed be the stronger harder hitting at Welter. To be on the safe side he should learn from his mistakes.... If he does that he outclasses Maidana and knocks him out in the mid rounds.

His dominance (for the most part) was forgotten in that fight.. Because of the way he went out.

Sorry, Anarci...Let me clarify, I was talking about Khan-Bradley, as in I think Bradley is a bad matchup for Khan, but I give Amir the edge over Victor if they ever met...WW is where Victor needs to be and could-will be a star?

:lol: Are you kidding me? Not a chance.. ORtiz is a good boxer (when hes not duking it out or) hes too well rounded.. I think Malinaggi is good fighter , but some people make it out likes hes some kind of slickster... HE is a fast guy with a good jab, movement but technichally hes not confusing or thoroughly outboxing any top guy that has decent boxing skils. The only reason he beat Diaz was because the smaller Diaz couldnt get his respect, but if he had power Paulie wouldnt have ever beat him or fought him so close. i diidnt think the first figfht was a robbery(the scoring was to wide) but it was a pretty even match, no robbery.. Reason i brought this fight up is i have the feeling you think Paulie could possibly do something like this with Ortiz.

Anyways back to Ortiz... I think Ortiz could fight Paulies fight and still beat him... He would manhandle Paulie the way Rickey Hatton did.. Paulie has a tough chin and a lot of balls,,,, But he might finally take a count for the first time.,

Not the same circumstances. I haven't seen one single improvement in Berto's game since I first started watching him several years ago. He's the same fighter. Still a head hunter and still relies solely on his athletic ability. He nary landed a body punch tonight even though they were in-fighting for most of the fight.
