Are we all in agreement that Berto cherry picked 140 for years?

When the writing is on the wall, it is on the wall. I don't know how anyone can defend this guy. Picked up that vacant WBC belt and milked it for all that it was worth. The guy was constantly trying to pick on 140 lb. fighters. Steve Forbes-check. Juan Urango-check. Tried to get Marcos Maidana to move up in weight to fight him (link here: http://www.boxing-scene.com/schaefer-not-sure-if-maidana-interested-berto-shot--30220)

Was considering fightining Malignaggi had Paulie beat Ricky in 2008

The guy's entire title run @ 147 has been a farce. And Team Berto even tried to cherry pick with Ortiz as an opponent, and it bit them in the ass. There is pretty much no doubt that Berto has been the most pathetic title holder in recent years.

And now we really know why he bowed out of a fight with Mosley. He just didn't want to have to face any real contenders at 147, so he had his built in excuse on a silver platter for him.

I don't blame Berto here for anything. His handlers obviously saw that he had very vulnerable punch resistance and that's why they hadn't put him in with a puncher until now. Call it good matchmaking, call it protecting their fighter, but Andre himself isn't the one to blame. He fought whoever they put infront of him. His management is the responsible party here.

What the hell are you talking about? Did you not read the thread? Do you not see the trend? This was Ortiz' FIRST figtht @ 147. Berto's camp thought once again that they were picking on the smaller guy. It isn't complicated.

    Berto's reign was a farce.

And Berto had his personal referee Ortega who was constantly on Ortiz' back! He cheated Ortiz out of a knockdown in round one, there were two, took a point away for nothing, and kept interfering with the fight! Collazo beat Berto also.

 ortiz was a big jr. welterwieght, and if you notice, assuming you saw the fight, he was getting the better of berto on the inside. so your agrument about picking on a smaller guy is weak considering many people thought ortiz could win the fight.
