I congratulate Ortiz on his victory but he's not ready for the Pac and Floyd fights just yet. A great stepping stone and credibility fight would be him and Mike Jones. As much as I like Berto, Mike Jones hits just as hard and has more skill. I pick Jones by UD in this fight cause of his skill and physical advantages.

I would rather have jones beat zaveck, so he becomes a beltholder then in 1/2 years fight ortiz.

I agree no one knows this Zaveck guy.. Only guys like Herzog and his commie buddies follow him.... Also ORtiz deserves a gimme after this rough fight. He should make a M. Hatton P mcCloskey type of oponent.. You know someone that will just give him a work out and without much chance of winning.

Let him fight Alfonso Gomez.. Even though ORtiz will take him, GOmez will be game and this could be exicting. GOmes is a name opponen.. Well respeted but not to dangerous.

i think ortiz is the kind of fighter who needs good opponents to perform well, i feel agaisnt alfonso gomez he would be cautious and look to just go 12.

Well it kind of looked that way when he received a gift against karras the 1st time... But he looks like he learned from that fight and looked impressive in the rematch.... I think Jones is the real deal, he jsut ran out of gas and was suprised by how tough Karras was.. He fought a smart fight the next time,, big welterweight... HE looks like hes probably the best WW contender out there.

Gomez is a decent fighter but hes not a big puncher, i dont see why he would be so cautious.... Hopefully winning the title will make Ortiz a better fighter.. Id like to see him and Canelo at a catch weight, after Ortiz has a couple more fights at WW.

cautious because ortiz has a tendency to just get by mediocre fighters, against someone he knew people wrote him off against he fought his heart out.

Mike Jones is not Berto, he understands defense and how to stay on on the outside and box for the majority of a fight. I could see him beating Ortiz by decision.

If Ortiz handled Bertos power he could take Jones. For now I think its either Jones by SD or Ortiz by stoppage. Ortiz reminds abit of Vargas where hes a strong all around very good fighter just a hair short of being great. Victors just getting started he needs to bring his hands up when hes in trouble. Jones looks like.he has potential, but until he fights a name Im not sold on him yet.

I would like to see Mike Jones beat somebody of significance like a Luis Collazo before he is awarded a fight against the WBC champ. His best win is Karass which isn't much in the big scheme of things. I don't think Jones can even beat a fighter that is the caliber of Collazo so, I guess I don't really care to see the fight. I think Ortiz is better than Jones at this point until Jones can prove otherwise with a big win of his own.
