Chris John vs. Daud Cino Yordan RBR

Round 1

John circles to his left. GIGANTIC RING, I'm noticing. ENORMOUS. FIFTY foot ring. John pops Yordan with a nice straight right to the nose. Crowd cheers. John boxing from the outside. John keeps circling quickly to his left, very light on his toes. Yordan tries to measure him with his slower but still straight and accurate jab. John is moving his shoulders and head side to side while circling, looking slick. John with a 1-2 to the body. John popping out right hands while moving. Good stuff by John. Yordan just stalks. They get in close, and Yordan decides to forearm-shiver John into range rather than infight. BIG left hook to the body by John!! Yordan is keeping his hands up blocking jabs but not throwing much (landing nothing). John keeps orbiting him popping quick left jabs. John hitting gloves but outworking him. Good left hook curls up and partway around Yordan's right glove. John keeps circling and popping. Nice boxing lesson going on. Yordan keeps coming forward, blocking. Big flurry by Yordan at the end, hits glove.

Those coffee commercials actually DID subliminally cause me to make another pot of coffee..

Well, that and waking up on three hours' sleep, hungover, to wait four hours for this to start. :!:

 

Round 2

John is landing nicely with his quick jab, tripling it up. Good counters landing on Yordan, right hands from a distance and left hooks up close. Yordan is swinging wildly with haymakers trying to close in and getting countered sharply. Yordan winds his way in and leans on him, and John lands a nice left hook to the body. Yordan is letting his hands go but inaccurate. Now Yordan lands a thudding left hook to the body of his own. John goes to town, shoeshining on the inside! Yordan ties him up and pushes him away. BIG FLURRY BY JOHN!!! Yordan catches him wide open with a left hook to the jaw!! John circles out and double jabs. John is dancing around, rhythmically sacheting to his left and popping counters.

Both looked good in the 2nd, but John is still landing much more cleanly and with sharper stuff.
