What I can't understand is why Froch can't get some form of UK TV deal and publicity? The guy can fight he is charismatic, he has an Iron Chin, exciting style, will fight anyone anywhere anytime etc. I don't understand why hype jobs like Khan get exposure and a legit fighter like Froch can't? :huh

Maybe some of the Brits on here can explain this?

Agreed. He is everything a guy like Haye pretends to be, but doesn't get the glory. I'm stumped as well.

Nah, Henessy if ****ing useless and, if anything, has been detrimental to Froch's career because of his ineptitude. Froch has got all the accolades and respect he has due to his own skills and beating good fighters, but he has not had a fraction of the exposure or earnings he could have had with a competent promoter.

The British market for boxing is a great one, with a lucrative TV and PPV market to be exploited by British World Champions (think Naz,Hatton, Haye, Khan) - yet fat Mick could not even get Carl on TV, despite being one of our most exciting fighters taking part in a revolutionary new boxing competition. Micks job was to hype the super six and get Carl on TV and maximise his income - yet no one in this country has a clue about the super six and Carl's fights have been on a TV station no one had heard of, which is used as the last refuge of shunned boxing cards (see Khan - McCloskey).

Mick DID have a good TV deal. Froch's fight againsts Pascal went out during prime time on a TV channel which goes to every home in the country. Then this channel dropped out of boxing and Mick somehow failed to get Froch on TV - his next fight against Taylor was only available via a PPV internet stream, with repeats hidden away on satellite channels at about 10pm the next night.

He is ****ing useless and should have got rid of him a long time ago

I didn't know Froch didn't have a major TV deal. He is a much more TV friendly fighter than Calzaghe was, he fights the best available opposition, and he has more personality than Calzaghe did also.

Hennessy's promotion tactic = get his fighters to slag off other fighters with a bigger name in the hope of landing a fight. I think Froch is a little over rated but if he'd been fighting on Sky his name would be as big as Haye's in the UK. It is Hennesy's fault he's not been on Sky.

No we cant explain this either!

Carl Froch is a world champion...top class fighter...always exciting....great **** talker....has a superb resume...is willing to fight anyone anywhere (exept germany)

He is Uks best fighter im stagered that he isnt celebrated as such..hes not famous among non boxing fans the way lesser value fighters like Haye and Khan are.

Sky Sports dont even show him...cant understand it

Froch has everything you need to be a huge TV fighter. I don't know if he hasn't been marketed correctly or what but if he was American he would have a huge fan base and support and would be on HBO, Showtime etc.

I consider Froch one of my "must watch" Boxers when he is on and there are not many of those around today only a handful or so....

Nah, they are about level for entertainment. Both exciting but neither are Gatti or Maidana. Froch is just a wana be Brian Clough personality wise. Calzaghe was the better boxer/fighter hands down.

Froch is by far my favourite English fighter. Genuinely wants to fight everyone and if he gets to the super 6 final no one comes close to having the same level of opposition in their last 7 fights (if all other boxers did insisted on doing this boxing would be much the better for it). Nice bloke, great fights and his missus brings a bit of glamour. I hope he gets picked up by sky but they really do their best to not mention him, so don't hold out much hope.

The Slowbra is not skilled enough to be on the major TV networks and make that kind of money.

I have a bad feeling this will be Frochs downfall.
I think Hennesy has done well for Froch overall. I know Froch lacked British TV exposure as a defending world champ, which is wrong. But Hennesy did get Froch on terrestial TV earlier in his career, got Froch a British and world title etc.
Froch has had to travel which understandably he doesnt want to do, and shouldnt have to as champ.
I wonder if Froch will take his eye off of the game without Mick, and make some bad decisions and not concentrate on his training as much as he should, resulting in defeat.
I hope not, but have doubts
