:happy:happy:happy It only took an hour of education and borderline bullying, but at last you have made a couple of relevant comments on an h2h thread! Well done!! And no, of course S.Littles would not have beaten Calzaghe. However, that point has nothing to do with this thread whatsoever. I prefer to stay on point. :good
these americans are a disgrace has there ever been a more gullable, ignorant, narrow minded nation :rofl lennox lewis spent too long living there, he got brainwashed by ring comic and hbo just like the rest of em
I always did understand fool atsch, but put forward various points, and you ducked every single one :dead
I'll pass on all eight pages of bailey fluffing Calzaghe, but it's pretty safe to say Calzaghe decisions Nunn. Better chin, better workrate, better defense, bigger man. If memory serves me correctly, Jones was in the range of a 3/1 underdog against Calzaghe. And let's face it, when a fighter is as good as Jones was in his prime, it's very, very hard to admit that they have become old and or shot. The boxing media, in general, is just as fallible as everyone else when it comes to picking fights. Bottom line, oddsmakers didn't believe Roy had much of a chance, and since Joe's chin held up past the first round, it turned out that they were right.
Do you respect Jones, Nunns and Toneys SMW resumes then Robert look at the level Toney was fighting at, when SMW champ 1993 he wins the title from iran barkley a fighter who years earlier was blown away by nigel benn in 1 round and pummelled to a loss by a shot roberto duran barkley went onto lose 11 out of 25 fights following this fight and never beat anyone who was remotely good in doing so,the guy was so desperate he was even plying his trade as a HW in the late 90's against the likes of berbick and they say this era is a joke govonor chambers a guy with a career record of 9 wins 7 losses, all 3 fights prior to toney were ko losses! ricky thomas: won 11 lost 14,the 4 fights he had prior to toney all losses! glenn thomas:won 29 lost 8, lost to roy jones prior to toney and finished his career with a first round ko loss to jeff lacy. danny garcia: won 30 lost 22, was coming off losses to chris pyatt (a steve collins victim) lamar parks etc larry prather: won 19 lost 24,lost his last 5 fights prior to the toney fight even losing to nicky piper tony thornton: won 37 lost 7,lost to chris eubank a year earlier. anthony hembrick: won 31 lost 8,lost to maske prior to toney and orlin norris a year earlier. tim littles: won 27 lost 3,maybe one of his better wins, had fought mainly bums with the exception of a close UD over frankie liles, went onto lose to frankie liles in a 2nd contest following the toney fight. vinsom durham: won 21 lost 37 enough said. charles williams: won 37 lost 7 drew 3,lost to maske prior to toney. This content is protected and finally the Jones fight and, That was Jones big SMW victory where Toney was alledgedly weight weakend, other than that Jones didnt do much at SMW. Eubank and Benn though had some good genuine SMW victories Benn beat Wharton, McClellan, Nardiello, Galvano and drew with Eubank Eubank beat Watson, Rocchigiani, Wharton, Holmes and drew with Benn. Collins was also better at SMW than MW and twice beat Eubank and Benn. I think Collins would have out toughed Toney and Jones at SMW. Would have picked Benn and Eubank to have beaten Jones or Toney also. Eubank, Benn and Collins were fighting at a much higher level at SMW. There was some **** people were spouting about Nunn beating Calzaghe recently on a different thread but once again look at the facts Form line first - Nunn lost to Rocchigiani who lost to Eubank who Calzaghe beat Nunn lost to Toney who lost to Jones who Calzaghe beat Nunn lost to Liles who lost to Mitchell who Calzaghe beat Who they lost to - Calzaghe lost to nobody. 46-0 the greatest SMW ever and winner of 24 world title fights, won WBO WBC WBA IBF Ring SMW titles and Ring LHW title Nunn lost to overated Toney who lost to bums, Nunn lost to 21-13-2 S Little , Nunn lost to Liles also (see above). Now who at SMW did Nunn beat? Arguably his biggest SMW win was V Cordoba and Nunn needed 2 attempts to look convincing to do it . Cordoba isnt even at the same level as R Woodhall who Calzaghe beat and Cordoba is arguably Nunns best SMW victory At MW who did better/has a better resume - Well Calzaghe never fought at that weight so you cant compare At SMW Calzaghes resume pisses all over Nunns no question At LHW Calzaghes 2 fights at LHW are more impressive than all of Nunns at LHW. Now why dont you tell me who Toney, Jones or Nunn beat at SMW that is so much better than what Calzaghe, Eubank, Benn or Collins did. This will be good
Well I proved everything I needed to in this thread in a dominating fashion. I do think Calzaghe would beat the 168 Nunn as he was past it but if Calzaghe fought at 160 around Nunn's prime I doubt he would fight him. Joe should've seeked out more of a risk for his last fight than old, zombie Jones. He was a great champ but his limited resume makes me question what would happen if he had much more of a willingness to face the best he possibly could.
nunn would destroy calz. i'm not being sarcastic either. here's a list of fighters from the greatest country to walk the earth that would dance on the euro bum that is calzaghe... byron mitchell: calz cheated against him. it was a clear win for the great american. kevin kelley: although a feather, he would still be too much for calzaghe. he's AMERICAN!!!, of course he'd beat the euro bum. allen green: smokes the **** out of calz no problem. did you see what he did to another great american, jaidon codrington? just wow!! tom "boom boom" johnson: this is a tough one but, he's american, so he defo wins. "poison" jr jones: calz would drop him once or twice because he had a glass jaw, but calz has NEVER knocked anyone out so wouldn't be able to finish him. jones stops him in 7. thomas tate: calz ran from him like the plague. he would do wouldn't he. he's AMERICAN. had the coward calzaghe fought him, he would of been smashed to bits. there's just a small list of the greatest people of the earth that would beat the euro bum. their AMERICAN and therefore better than everybody else. better people, better singers, better athletes, better everything. they are really special. how could someone like joe deal with that? he couldn't, it's a simple as that.
No one who slaps like an amateur is gonna beat Nunn. You have to hurt Nunn to even come close to beating him. Nunn was 6'2, faster than Joe, and a harder puncher to boot. I don't see Calzaghe beating him. Nunn by decision.
The fight would have to be at no less than SMW, and Nunn has shown nothing at SMW losing to a fighter like the 21-13-2 S Little , to prove he could hang with Calzaghe. The form line tells a big story Nunn lost to Rocchigiani who lost to Eubank who Calzaghe beat Nunn lost to Toney who lost to Jones who Calzaghe beat Nunn lost to Liles who lost to Mitchell who Calzaghe beat Who they lost to - Calzaghe lost to nobody. Cordoba isnt even at the same level as R Woodhall who Calzaghe beat and Cordoba is arguably Nunns best SMW victory At SMW Calzaghes resume pisses all over Nunns no question At LHW Calzaghes 2 fights at LHW are more impressive than all of Nunns at LHW.
calzaghe too aggresive, great boxing brain can adjust in fights very quickly and has a better chin then Nunn
