technically out of all the talented fighters at 140 ortiz was classes ahead. ortiz throws his punches correctly, all of them, he probably needs to jab more but he does it all correct. ortiz can do it all, fight toe-toe, box, and bully a boxer like he did yesterday. khan just looked really bad yesterday and anyone arguing against that seriously needs to watch the fight again until they change their mind. if bradley fights his best fight he could beat khan. he needs to get in and out early on get ahead then set traps for khan and he will walk in to them, when fighters step back against khan he walks forward like a kid and is waiting to get nailed by the straight right. ortiz wanted khan for yesterday, khan turned him down for mckloskey. now when he wants to move up to 147 ortiz will be waiting.:deal

thats bull****, 'calling' someone out in professional sports means nothing, if ortiz wanted to fight khan he would have had his manager make a request to GBP. it was never on the table after ortiz lost to maidana as everyone including GBP had lost all faith in him while khan was looking like a superstar.
it was talked about after khan's U.S debut, oritz was never shy of mentioning the fight, same can't be said about khan. ortiz probably thought khan would give him his chance and once khan turned him down then it was time to move up. ortiz was saying for months that no one at 140 would give him his chance and berto was the only one willing to step up.
Khan looked pathetic in comparison. Can't see Amir getting past Bradley, let alone moving up to face even Berto (below Elite class but above average) let alone Manny, Floyd, and now, Ortiz. Ortiz Vs Zaveck, anyone? Or Ortiz Vs a disciplined Canelo? Very impressed with Ortiz, have to keep reminding myself that whilst Berto was no World-beater, Ortiz was a 161lb beast and showed his ability to come through rough patches and fight with a decent intensity down the stretch (slowed the pace down In the mid-to-late rounds and was grabbing hold right at the end, but certainly did not look the same fighter from the Peterson fight) therefore I would say that this far, the move up in weight looks to be paying dividends. No technical improvements, but then he's an exciting fighter, never gonna' be an ATG, but should give anyone around 147 (currently) a bit of trouble. Exciting times ahead, Ortiz should be very proud of himself. I'd favour him to hammer Maidana up at this weight for sure.
I think that's a fight that he needs to take in the near future. I'm not as big as some on here are about avenging losses (people who think Khan should fight Prescott **** me off to be honest) but it would definitely shake off plenty of the stigma if he were to get the job done. He's definitely proven me wrong getting off the canvas to beat Berto - the move to 147 was the right move, weighing in at 140 and coming into the ring at almost 160 isn't good.
I said beforehand that Bradley would beat Berto. Much more competitive but I reckon he'd make the necessary adjustments and drag back an early deficit, outmanouvering Ortiz down the stretch to take it on points.
All I want to say on this thread is respect to Victor Ortiz. I didn't think he'd beat Berto but he took his game to a new level. I was really impressed by the respect he showed Berto in the post fight interview, his humility and humour. Ortiz is a credit to the sport. Personally I'd love to see him and Berto in a rematch or see him face Maidana. Congratulations Victor.
