Do all of you hold the belief that Bradley would have shined over 6 rounds with an ultra-negative McCloskey?

McCloskey did nothing apart from making Khan miss and look bad, Khan won all the rounds easy.

Bradley vs Alexander was still close rounds at times, but both fighters looked and fought a dull fight, same as the Khan fight.

But as i said lets put that all aside, sometimes styles dont gel, fighters have off nights, or things outside the ring effect the fighter.

July 23rd let it end all discussion

Alexander posed more problems for Bradley than Mcloskey did for Khan. Bradley may have looked like ****, but he shut Alexander down and was bullying him from the second round onwards.

Bradley might not have shined but he'd have least not been as sloppy as that. He would have the advantage of being able to sit on McCloskey's chest and outwork him with short punching that McCloskey would have far more difficulty avoiding + bodywork. Khan dug his own hole performance wise with his doggy paddling, a blind man would have seen those coming.

Difference is, Devon is 10x the boxer of McCloskey & many people thought it was a 50-50/60-40 fight due to the problems Devon would pose him. Khan was meant to steamroller McCloskey and despite a wide winning margin was pretty unimpressive for the most part

Devon was only a 7/4 underdog & had a fair amount of people picking him. Yeah, it was 100% nailed on that Bradley would win

there were some intangibles to picking it, but I was pretty confident of Bradley winning.

He wouldn't have looked as sloppy, thats almost a certain, and he would have won every round as well. But theres been plenty of posts since yesterday stating that against an opponent like McCloskey, Khan should have shined as he's a clear level above. Surely that should be the same for Bradley? I have little doubt that if we had seen Bradley in with McCloskey last night it would have been just a **** a fight as it was last night, but the reaction to the performance would not be quite so severe.

Khan would have had pretty much the exact same criticism levelled at him if he had looked slightly less sloppy in there, say like he was the first 6 against Malignaggi.

Bradley would have gotten the fight stopped earlier:yep

I don't think McCloskey was ultra negative. He just wasn't fighting domestic fighters which he could counter easily. Khans flurries weren't great but they prevented Paul throwing anything. Paul has typically fought guys who throw single shots and he could slip and counter it. However he ended up trying to evade all of Khans shots and ended up twisting into no position to return fire.

I think he would have landed more on Bradley before he gets physically overpowered.

    Good for you :good

Obviously Bradley was rightly favoured but I think a lot of people pretty much wrote off Alexander due to one bad fight against a solid operator in Kotelnik. He posed a lot more troubles (pre-fight) to Bradley than McCloskey did to Khan last night, that's for sure so I don't really think a comparison between the two fights is fair or particularly accurate

As for Bradley vs Khan - as soon as Timmy gets inside then he's busting Khan's ass up real bad. And he will get inside pretty easily, no doubt in my mind

Devon got exposed by Kotelnik(a guy Khan beat by wide points), Bradley was the man going into that fight.

That just speculation. Khan got reasonable reviews for his performance against Malignaggi. It was a bit dodgy until Malignaggi started to break down, not as good as Hatton's, but never quite as bad as last night. Khan should have at least provided a solid performance for somebody thats supposed to be at the stage he is, ready to unify a division. Yet it was anything but, the only thing steady about the performance was the fact he picked up each round 10-9. His work was rushed and poor.

    Oi!

    :blurp

Well Devon wasn't steamrollered the way a lot of people predicted. I had 3 clear rounds for Devon. One fairly even. Not bad considering he had several accidents to deal with too
