During the day, i try to drink 3 gallons of water/diet icea tea mix. I am 6'3 235 lbs. Trying to get some of the excess weight off, in addition to cardio and a lot of havey bag work. I just turned 30. How long do you guys think of drinking that much water, before I will notice a difference?

This doesn't even make sense. Why are you even bothered about water weight?

three gallons sounds like a lot of water/tea. if this all you drink, meaning no coffee or soda than i wouldn't worry about water intake. i would drink more water than needed as i was coming off from a diet that included five diet cokes throughout the day.

Is this serious? That is a LOT of fluids. If you are forcing the stuff down you are doing damage. Just drink plain water and your body will tell you if you are OK. Why "get healthy" dumping all of that artificial sweetener inside yourself?

Seriously, water can KILL YOU! Especially when you couple it with high intensity exercise. You are an electrical machine and you lower your salt content enough and... The juice doesn't flow. You short out and die.

Keep your pee pale yellow cycling into clear before a workout and watch what you eat. All that other stuff is kind of off topic. Good luck.

make suer its ice water........0 degree c needs to be brought to body temp 37 degree c

8 oz water is 224g*37 8.288 Calories burned per cup

3 gallons........48 cups almost 400 calories burned a day just from drinking ice water.........

no but serisouly cut out the diet ice tea mix and cut back to 2 gallons of water a day. if you really like tea make hot tea or get one of those ice tea makers and make your own unsweented ice tea

adding cranberry juice and orange juice can add some sweetness to the tea with out adding much sugar.

and try to drink 16 oz of water with in the first hour of waking to give your metabolism a little kick start.

    A difference with what?
Drinking a lot of water will keep your metabolism working properly, but it won't help you lose weight particularly, you just won't be holding more water due to dehydration.
Stop drinking 3 gallons of iced tea blend a day if you want to lose weight.

Instead of listening to all the BS about water intake, I just drink when I'm thristy. Pre workout, I'll drink more than I feel like I need to as a preparation for intense fluid loss. I probably do't drink enough water post workout. Once I've had my milk-organic syrup-protien powder drink, I forget to re-hydrate.

And I used to think drinking a gallon of water a day was a lot. Wouldn't you be comatose, or worse dead, with that much fluid and lots of high intensity exercise?

I drink the fluids throughout the day, all day and while watching tv at night. I just moved from NY to Texas. I just drink in between meals. I pee a lot and trying to keep my metabolism high. I have always had a slow metabolism. I am 6'3 235 lbs.
