Naz v molina Collins v Benn Winky Wright v Bingham (if memory serves) there was also Michael Gomez, Michael Brodie, Herbie Hide, a young Danny Williams, Carl the cat Thompson and so on Then over to the states for..... Tyson v Holyfield also featuring Ricardo Lopez, Akiwande, Botha, Moorer and big Scott Welch. Now that was a card worth paying for
De La Hoya talking nonsense again. I said this a few weeks ago, where are the big fights for Khan? There seems to be this assumption that because's fairly young and fairly decent that he's some set in stone investment who is going to sail to the pinnacle of the sport. Won't happen. He's too average and there are no big fights out there. Won't be able to fight Mayweather, Cotto, Pacquiao, for various reasons and aside from them there is very little else out there, unless someone like Ortiz can remain consistent, which is unlikely.
Neither hvae burnt their bridges but its just left a bit of a sour taste in everybodys mouth. There was more coverage of the tv fallout Khan losing £1 million than on the actual fight and a possible bout with Bradley at the end of it which was disappointing really. I think if they never work again together which i very much doubt Khan wont miss out because he still has primetime and it looks like most of his money will be coming from the states in the future anyway. Sky knew he was never a MASSIVE ppv seller so for all the hassle its not worth it they have other propsects and promoters to work with. The only way i can see Sky losing out is if somehow Khan becomes a massive superstar over the next few years for some reason but i cant see that happening without the support of Sky in the UK anyway. Floyd should fight Ortiz would be a good exhibition of just what we have been missing and at welter it looks like Ortiz would at least keep coming all night
First of all 2am is too early for a PPV main event Secondly they have larger stadiums in America that can seat more people. In America they would also be able to sell the tickets at a higher price. Thirdly its been repeatedly shown that taking boxing fights outside of America decreases the number of ppv buys because it lessens the media coverage in the states in the week during the fight i.e. fighters not easily available for interviews, less journalists on site, less advertising for the actual show in a major media market Fourthly the cable networks have repeatedly shown that they do not want to keep subsidising Europeans fighting in Europe - that's why they stop airing Klitschko fights despite good ratings and they've lowballed Khan when he tried to take the Maidana fight to the UK.
There's absolutely no way a fight over here with anyone can make more than a big event in Vegas. If they didn't consider doing the Hatton fight (or a rematch) here they wouldn't consider it for Khan. I know you love him, but he's not that big a draw over here in the way that Tyson was, or Holyfield was to a lesser extent. Plus, there wouldn't be much interest from the American viewers in a UK based PPV. Agreed. He just teases Craig Slater until he gets the mouth all foamy then starts talking about his other passions like wrestling and fast cars. Pretty comical really.

I don't think Sky have ever done amazingly well from their relationship with Khan. ALOT of people I know hate him and not in the way they hate Mayweather and they would still watch him. No one I know had one shred of an interest in Saturday night and that includes boxing fans and mainstream fans. Good luck to primetime convincing fans that Khan vs Bradley at 5am int he morning is the way to go.
The thing with Mayweather fighting in the UK is that a lot of his fans want it so badly that they end up concocting all sorts of unlikely scenarios where it could happen that usually defy boxing and financial logic.
He will go back to SKY. Khan needs SKY, or he'll be alienating his fans. Charging 14.95 for garbage fights doesn't help the matter.
