And that douchebag Snakefist jumps on my nuts because I merely stated that Sergio Martinez isn't a mestizo but a Spaniard born in Argentina?? It's also nice to know that being Mexican means more to some folks that were born here than being American. :-(
Wasn't Taylor ahead on the scorecards before the knockout? Indeed, didn't Chavez need a knockout to defeat Meldrick that fight?? :huh
and didnt Chavez get the TKO win at the end??? And wasnt Taylor looking like he had just gone through a meat grinder, and had to be taken immediatley to the hospital with a fractured face and urininating pure blood, while Chavez didnt have a single scratch on his face, and went out to **** Salma Hayek after the fight?? You tell me who got their ass whooped in that fight.
I was gonna put money down on Agbeko since i see him having the stylistic advantage but now i dont know... I do think its going to be a close fight regardless but if a guy like Ortiz can come out possessed like he did and become champ a full blooded Mexican like Mares should too....
mexican americans, but even if you dont include them we still got: Segura KO3 Calderon Marquez TKO11 Concepcion Gonzalez TKO4 Hasegawa Rubio TKO7 Lemiuex Morales EVT12 Maidana :deal Salido TKO8 Lopez bbb:freddy
You have proved that Chavez hits harder. Yay. Here's a cookie. Taylor was ahead on the cards, and had he survived, he would have won. Kudos to Chavez for winning the bout. I never suggested otherwise. But he got tagged plenty that night. The three judges would certainly concur.
Taylor did manage to tag Chavez alot that night, no denying that...He had that big speed advantage and he also had a solid inside game. But at the end of the day, he payed a price for that as he was receiving a severe beating in return as well.
And? What happened in the ring?? Taylor was ahead on the scorecards, so how the **** did he get his "ass kicked?" Taylor lost fair and square; Chavez was an outstanding fighter. However, I am not quite sure how a fighter ahead on the scorecard can be said to have gotten his "ass kicked" because of post-fight medical matters. For instance, imagine that fighter A cuts more easily than fighter B. Figher A, if hit enough, will likely bleed more and appear more damaged than fighter B. Does that necessarily follow that he "got his ass kicked?" Do you see my point?
Fair enough. If you were expecting me to commence a whole thread in which I ran down Chavez, you're barking up the wrong tree. I thought then and think now that he was an excellent, Hall of Fame fighter. Rather, I took issue with the characterization of that particular bout. I for one thought it was a fantastic fight.
