Cotto's jab is flawed and that's exactly what made Pacquiao's win so easy, plus Clottey and Mayorga were able to stop the fight being a jabbing contest. Miguel overreaches with it, there isn't a fluid follow-up right hand, and he's open when he pulls the left back. Pacquiao was practically BEGGING Cotto to throw the straight over the hook so he could counter the jab. Speaking of JuanMa, a jab would help his case and like Cotto he seems to know what's happening in the ring, but knowing and doing what's right are two different things. Speaking of Cotto however, he would've stood a far better chance against Pac if he decided to go back to the old hooking days, go to the body, to the head around the guard, pressure Manny and make it physical like the Judah fight.

Juanma not only fell in love with his power, but he also stated slacking on defense. When Tito threw combos he always bought his hands up Juanma doesn't.

I also think the weight was a issue too. I'm sure he will win the rematch though. I'm sure he'll be back. If anything this lost might make him better.

Regardless a Mexican that punches in high volume, comes with pressure and has a granite chin will always be a Puerto Ricans nigthmare. Most of the time were boxer boxers, but Mexicans just don't ****ing go down damn it!

JuanMa used to be a counter-puncher with amazing one-punch KO power. then recently, his counter-punching turned into brawling, he couldn't even use a jab and would always lead with a hook, his footwork is poor and he can't even be bothered to raise his gloves to protect his head even when he's getting hit

Not only recently, this has been going on for his last 4 or 5 fights. He's either regressing or in frank decline.

IMHO, his team did not research or studied Salido, for real! Salido's only weapon was the looping right hand which is the same weapon he used against Gamboa. Once he hit JM with three punches like in the 3rd round, I told my wife JM is getting KO soon.

A lot of fighters now day dont use fundamentals, like watching videos of the their opponents previous fights and thats something one should do.

If you recall even Al Berstein mentioned the looping right hand before the fight started, so how is the **** a commentator knows about the pucnh and your team does not, I dont ****ing get it. His team should developed a stragedy to avoid getting hit with that right hand, also JM does not how to adjust well and as of lately has gotten off his game plan an gone that trading punches bull****. He thought that because that **** worked with Marquez it would also work with Salido but he forgot to consider the fact that Salido has not been knocked donw in ten years.

According to Boxrec, the last time Salido was down was in 2003.
