I'm gonna throw it out there: Floyd/Ortiz

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by checklefthook, Apr 17, 2011.

  1. mayweather should easily beat Ortiz. But maybe Floyd's downfall will come to someone completely unexpected. He's not getting any younger and you'd have to question his motivation at this stage of his carrer. Can't see him slipping upagainst Ortiz, though. He's too cautious and fastidious in his preparations to blow a fight against someone like that.

Possible PBF stoppage. His precision punches would catch Ortiz when he would lunge in. Also Berto has no inside game whatsoever. The kid has speed and some pop so you would think the inside would be great specially with this uppercut. He reminds me of Lara. Good at a distance but when on the inside they are clueless.

Ortiz did shoe improvements and i wouldnt be surprised if he pulled out an upset. His punch is no joke. He hurt Berto repeatedly when he landed on him.

No more tune ups, dude "tunes up" every year and then takes his "tuned up" body on vacation till the next time he needs to get "tuned up".

FLoyd Is most ike senario, due to him being a much better version of peterson.

However saying that. Floyd is slowing down. And ortiz has breat power. I'd give him a good chance.

I don't see it been a shut out - I see Ortiz having his moments.

Ortiz can only fight one way. That's not enough against Mayweather.

    Mayweather wins.

That said, I don't think Mayweather wants this fight, possibly for a few reasons.

After one of the knockdowns you could see Mayweather watching through the ropes and while everyone one was cheering and jumping up Floyd just stared.
He was completely emotionless and the way he watched the fight makes me believe he studied their moves.
Ortiz-Mayweather as a tune-up for pac in november.

I would expect Ortiz to come out and jump on PBF like he did Berto. Which IMO would be a huge mistake. He would get hit with something big he didn't see earlty and get hurt bad or dropped thus taking away his confidence. PBF would then skate on to a wide UD win.

Jones isn't a C+ fighter so just stop it. And stylistically Jones matches up better with PBF than Ortiz does.:deal
