I was teased this morning when I heard on FoxSports radio here in the US that there was some new deal between Floyd and HBO.

The show ended at 5:00 a.m. and then a new one started so I'm not sure what happened.

Did anyone else hear about something? I think the jost was JT The Brick and he was on with some guy named Looney.

Also, they clearly stated it had nothing to do wiht Manny.

I've check numerous sites, but haven't seen anything posted.

Anyone have a clue what it's about?

    I think it's probably expected.

Arum, in truth, cut and ran from HBO, as he was unhappy about their favouritism of Mayweather, and other GBP fighters.

With Pacquiao fighting on Show time, with Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch, Edison Miranda, and all the other legends of the ring, I'm certain HBO will throw everything they've got at Mayweather now

With Pacquiao fighting for beans on Showtime, I think HBO will have to secure Mayweather.

And I guarantee, they'll be forced to pay him considerably more than they would have this time last year.

    Who says Mayweathers dumb.

The less he boxes, the more he makes

Arum is currently (and has been for years) taking legal action against HBO, for their favouritism of GBP fighters - giving them the best slots basically.

He's basically going out of business.

    Getting gobbled up.

He'll either retire, or be liquidated, as soon as Pacquiao hangs them up

Arum left HBO, for Showtime, as he basically gave them a "it's him or us" demand.

They wanted HBO to commit to Pacquiao, over Mayweather.

    HBO refused.

    Arum left

Come on guys get real. Arum has been a major promotional playa in this biz since the mid-sixties and as quiet as it's kept TR is probably doing better now than ever!

    thanks for the responses everyone.

Is it fair to say that HBO fighters make more than Showtime's top fighters? How likely would it be that HBO put something in the clause that either says "you have to fight Manny by spring 2012 and we'll help the cause by offering more money and saying Manny has to take the random test with a seven day before fight limit (or something like that).

It's the folks with the ca$h that are going to have to bring these two brats together. Both are doing a great job of sticking to their guns on this one which is admirable, but at the end of the day, we, the fans are being deprived of an intriguing match up.

Not according to the man himself.

His legal action against HBO (trying to get them to break their agreement with GBP) is basically stating that unless a judge allows more competition, he'll go bust

In truth, HBO and GBP are trying to squeeze him out

    It's not strictly Floyd.

Arum has had long running legal action going against HBO, trying to force them to break their exclusive deal with GBP.

Basically, HBO show almost every big GBP fight, on a great slot, and invest huge money in it.

This means he struggles to compete with his only promotional rival, and is slowly getting squeezed out financially.

Basically - only thing Arum can sell, is Pacquiao.

GBP make big money, all the time, because of HBO

    It's not Manny/Floyd

GBP own a bit of both.

Arum hates HBO, because they have exclusive deals with GBP.

    Which are forcing him out.

Basically, if every GBP fight is on prime time HBO, they'll all do pretty well.

Arum's complaint is that he doesn't get the same treatment. And they only take bouts, if the opponents are riight.

Basically, Arum did a "it's me or him" thing, and they stuck with GBP

1: Yes. Considerably more. HBO PPV is global. Showtime is USA only.

If Manny Pacquiao fights on Showtime, his bouts will be on free in every other country other than the USA.

If Floyd Mayweather fights on HBO, they will be selling PPVS in Mexico, Europe, Australia, Canada

Nobody chooses Showtime. It's small time. US only PPV audiences

2: Probably. But you'd be foolish to think Mayweather isn't planning it anyway.

He usually "retires" until his opponent gives him absolutely everything he wants, and ups the purse by about $10 million.

Arum's not dumb. Pacquiao's money, hype, and love is dropping fight by fight. People are getting bored, and cynical.

Sooner or later, he'll be begging Mayweather to box Pacquiao, and accepting 40% of the purse, and full random testing

Who else is Manny going to make money against? People are getting bored
