Gotta love the peurto rican heart

"Did you think it was stopped early?"

" yes, I was still concious" (although I suspect it was a translation error lol.

Hats off to Juanma though coz even though he said he thought it was stopped early when asked he also gave Salido his Kudos and said he was beaten on the night.

Sorry but this is laughable. Ricky Burns gets absolutely pummelled by Lopez, even if it's the Juanma that turned up against Salido.

No way, dude. Burns has a water tight defence, remember. You saw how well he did against that midget from the country where boxing is banned.

    This..

    Because of this.

i actually didnt think JuanMa looked that bad saturday. he won the first 3-4 rounds and then got caught hard, something which his style allows for. I think JuanMa wins the rematch. Burns gets destroyed. JuanMa is a lot better than Martinez!

    No chance.

Salido constantly caught JuanMa with overhand rights and well timed jabs and did a very good job blocking or rolling with most of what was coming back. Some rounds could've gone either way, but scoring for me is based on effective, clean, punching, and Salido was getting the better of Lopez most of the time no matter how excited the crowd and commentary got when Lopez threw something.

Except Lopez is proven to be a world-class fighter, Martinez wasn't by any stretch.

I don't doubt that, but I would be stunned if Frank took the fight.

Write Lopez off at your peril. Style wise, Salido (who should never be dismissed) is a tough match for someone that has the style of Lopez. This defeat might shake him up. Maybe forget a rematch and just go to super-featherweight.

I've always been a Gamboa fan out of the two, ever since his pro debut, but Lopez is nowhere near damaged goods - just needed a wake up call I think. Bit more discipline required too.

As for Burns v Lopez. The best of Lopez, in my opinion beats the best of Burns, but I reckon you'd see a a better Ricky Burns than the Martinez fight. And that for me, would give any fighter problems.

Look at the judges cards. At the time of the stoppage, all 3 had it level at 66-66. For me that means JuanMa won the first 4, lost the 5th by two points, and lost the 6th and lost the 7th.

On the RbR I think I scored the first 2 for JuanMa clearly, the 3 rd was closer but still gave it to Lopez, and the 4th actually scored for Salido even tho it was close.

When I quoted you I assumed you meant that you personally had Lopez winning the first four rounds, which he didn't. Sorry if you meant that the judges had it that way, if they did they were well off.
