    Yep.

Its just like with Tito. Dude was pretty one dimensional. But his monstrous power, and will got him to where he got. As one of the all time greats from PR, and one of the most dominant champs at 147lbs.

You say that's about it as if it's nothing. Of course the US and Mexico will have more and greater champions, they have a talent pool 100x and 30x bigger than Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico is the greatest boxing nation by an absolute mile. Imagine if they had the population of Mexico! They would have 10x the amount of champions Mexico has had.

ImElvis made a good point. :good

I wonder how Boxing would be different if the island was as big as Mexico. That would be interesting.

Imagine how boxing would change if Cuba was free.
It would be Cuba vs. PR and Mex

Mexico has big tourism, mining, fishing, oil and construction industries. There are many cities where there are univerities where there are big soccer programs, or in those big cities there are at least other options for people to get by.

how can you honestly say that ricans have the more skilled fighters, when you we have 3 of probably the most complete fighters, EVER......sanchez, finito and marquez IMO have more skill than anything PR has to offer......then you have guys under them with the skills of barrera, morales, chavez etc etc....

So there's a stronger culture of boxing in PR. Yeah, that's kinda my point. Puerto Rigo along with Cuba (for amateurs) are like New Zealand in rugby. P4P #1.

No offense intended but thats all there is there and nothing more, which is why they shouldnt be compared in relation to population.

Most Mexicans fighters beat us by their ability to absorb punches not by outclassing us.

    Better technicians?
Actually alot of the great Mexican fighters were technicians. Like Sal Sanchez who clinicaly beat down your greatest fighter:!::dead. How about Marquez,Canto? Or Ricardo Lopez, as a technichian he was about as perfect as you can get.

Common misconception among Puero Ricans. They think that just because their boxers run against Mexicans they are the better technicians!
