I will refrain from saying what I am thinking, however, Rios has never been as you say "chunky" . You don't have to wonder what Rios would look like at 147. He weighed 152 when he stepped into the ring with Petterson. 152 is his near normal weight so he would not look chunky at 147.

Yet, Ortiz will not even consider this fight.

Rios could fight very comfortably at junior welter right now.

What makes you think, that if Ortiz can take a fight with an undefeated champion for his first fight at 147 AND win it, that he would duck a previously unknown Rios?

Rios has beaten Acosta. Ortiz has beaten F***ing BERTO.

    Get with the program.

I know Victor will not take this fight anytime soon. It was offered to have the fight here in both fighter's hometown. Rios was willing but Otiz's camp turned it down. Bob Arum and Cameron Dunkin visited with us about it but it was not in their interest at the moment to make the fight. We all know it would be a once in a lifetime match up and that is why it will not happen until much later in their careers. Also, Acosta is a more tried and true veteran fighter than is Berto.

Berto was an undefeated world champion, ranked third after Manny and May at 147 by the Ring magazine, and the prime candidate for fighting Mayweather or Pacquiao for their next fight.

I think we're done here :patsch

Acosta is techinichally a better fighter and more well rounded ... But Berto has more natural talent, adn great hand speed... Both hit hard,.... Both have shaky chins.

PFP i think they are on par with eachother.

I doubt Rios will want to fight Ortiz. Ortiz has called out Rios in the past and challenged Rios to move up, but Rios has remained silent.

Berto is a good boxer. Acosta is a good boxer and a beast in the ring. If they met at 140/145 I would bet on Acosta over either Berto or Victor. He is a better fighter IMO.

Rios does NOT possess the physical tools to move up to welter successfully. He is like Margo at 147lb, though a beast at welter, he was not a beast just 7lb higher at 154lb.

Why? They both rely on wearing opponents down but neither are big punchers. Rios is a better one punch guy at lightweight than Margo was at welter, but neither are dynamic punchers. They rely on volume. And for Rios this would only become greater as he moves up.

But he lacks foot and hand speed. He isn't a technical stalker, he doesn't have the defense to limit the punishment he takes at the higher weights.

This would be a dumb move for a fighter who has a future at lightweight currently.
