i paid $50 in Vegas for Katsidis & Marquez...which had a cracking undercard. Got upgraded 13 rows from the ring for nothing. Why would I pay $55 ( for restricted view) to see this. I will just either go up the pub or see if i can get some freebies
Ottke retired in about March of 2004, I believe after the Byron Mitchell fight, and Mundine - Siaca was in about May of that year, off memory, with Mundine elevated to full WBA champion following Ottke's retirement.
The prices IMO for the fight are pretty steep, this fight should be looked at differently to the RJJ fight. The RJJ fight had the hype of the joint billing in the states, four months prior to the fight and RJJ in particular looked great against Lacy. I reckon the tickets LJD got are probably where the value is, $1,000 for ringside imo is ridiculous. Tarver has shown nothing in the last few years and doesn't bring the name value of RJJ. Though the Daily Telegraph will talk Tarver up like a hall of famer no doubt. You have to give credit to Green for bringing Tarver out, but the contest itself is nothing major, TC Boxa's points are quite valid.
I stand corrected, Mundine won the WBA super middle title, vacated by Ottke when he was elevated to super campion, in September '03 against Antwun Echols. Mundine defended this 'world title' against Nishizawa in January '04 whilst Ottke was still 'super champion'. Mundine lost the 'title in his next defense against Siaca in May '04. Ottke retired in March '04.
Its exactly the same as RJJ prices, i know a m8 who paid to sit VIP ringside for the RJJ fight, wasnt happy about how quick it ended either, this guy is a season amateur/pro and also paid the 1k for his kid to go with him and sit VIP ringside. I spoke to him about this and in all honestly i dont blame him for paying the 1k as its pretty much priceless to see RJJ fighting on our soil and for someone whos a devoted, hardcore boxing fan and participant i can see how one would fork over 2k to watch this, seats x 2. (1k each) Unfortunatly i cant say the same about Tarver. And thx for correcting that Dberry, hate to think i got ripped off 250$ for my VIP ringside seat, and i didnt pay RRP because i brought my ticket from the owner of Prize Fighter whom at the time had a few tickets Mundine gave him for below cost price. It also included a Limo ride to the fight. Danny is Milking his fans dry with these prices and its not even a legit title, unlike Siaca vs Mundine. He has already fcked his fans over with Briggs fight, Siaca fight and dont give a fck about charing them through the roof for this fight, of course anyone with a caculator and the history of Tarver purses will know that this price is to ensure DannyWeightBoy can pay Tarver his crazy price in order to restor Dannys Reputation. I guess Danny wasnt happy with the BJ fight and needs another RJJ type win on his collar. I just hope Tarver puts a spanner in the works and fcks Danny up Big time. Not a hater just love to see this so called best CW in the world fight the ACTUAL real top CW in the world rather than digging up guys who are on their way out in order for the fckwit DannyBoy fans be appeased and fooled like the idiot bogans they are.
I can see how you would be upset after paying 2k to have the fight end in the 1st but it is boxing and we all know it could end at any minute, thats the risk we take when buying tickets. Got my tickets to Green Vs Tarver, rather see him fighting for one of teh other belts but as I said, i wont miss the opportunity to se Tarver live
got my tickets today $175 not sure where they are as a mate of Greeny's got them and am going with him I am making a day of it there are about 15 of us going getting a bus and a few beers watching the fight then to the after fight party at Star city I think it is well worth it
Will have a few beers at a pub before and then the beers after are free and the lines are too loing during the fight so all in all shouldn't cost me too much more then the $175 which for a big day out i think is fine
I think they will be similar to the RJJ tickets which were great so should be Ok i know different arena but similar view
Spot on Whipsy, Boxing isn't like footy or other sports where you know you'll get 2 hours entertainment theres always the chance the fight could end early. How many people use to pay 15k plus for front row Tyson fights that lasted 1rd. To be honest a lot of the people paying 1k for their seat are loaded buisnessmen and celebraties who arn't even big boxing fans and are just there so they get seen on camera. The only way i would pay 1k is if i knew for sure that Paul Keating was sitting next to me:yep hehe
TCCoxsuka at it again, you beauty. Let's yet againdispel his crap. 1. every cumdine fights ringside seats are $1000, khoder just gives them to Fox, sponsors, scum bag hangers on like you 2. I went to cumdine v kessler and paid $350 and was 12 rows back, looking straight at the back of a ring corner 3. 62% of these tickets are $75 or under, cheaper than going to the footy or cricket 4. Tarver will be a hall of famer you fukwit 5. he aint milking anyone, don't wanna pay, don't go 6. I paid $750 for RJJ and lover every one of my 121 seconds seeing him get ko'd Any more facts on I can prove you on wrong today?
