So far, so good on the upset front. If I was undefeated, I'd stay off Friday Night Fights for a while.

 

The kirkland upset has got to be one of the biggest ones this year. If morales had beat maidana, it would of taken the spot for biggest upset

I love 2011 regarding boxing so far, its a very good year with awesome fights and upsets, way better than 2010 was at this point.

 

The Kirkland loss was mind blowing, but Juanma was just as shocking.

 

Couldn't understand why Berto was such a huge favorite over Ortiz anyway. I mean he fought life and death with Luis Collazo.

 

Kirkland was a Shocker cause the asian guy came in as a light hitting boxer. If he got out box with a jab then tire out and got knocked out would have been more understandable.

I tought Salido was a decent boxer before this fight, and knew ortiz had some skills with power. Lopez seems to make any boxers who can hurt him a tough fight. Berto seems to get caught, and don't have a plan b. He's fundamental sucks. I tought Ortiz would have gave him some problems but didn't know would have the balls to walk trough fire to win. Could have been just a case of draining himself at 140.

As for upsets. I only count lopez and Kirkland. think we will see more. There are really no stars right now in boxing. Just fighters that promotion are feeding down are trout.

I don't remember a year quite like 2001 when most of the big and meaningful fights ended in upsets. It may not score as high in the upset category in terms of numbers, but there were upsets in such big and significant fights, and the winners won so emphatically for the most part.

Barrera-Hamed was a fight for featherweight recognition. 3 to 1 underdog Barrera soundly outboxes Hamed.

Rahman-Lewis 1, for the heavyweight championship of the world. I've heard different numbers on the odds. 10 to 1, 12 to 1, 14 to 1. Rahman KOs Lewis.
