Yeah I'm sure Martinez is thinking Kelly "I can't hit him, I can't hit him" Pavlik would knock him out lol.

Good luck to Pavlik, though, I hope he gets his rematch because he'll lose again because he can't deal with movement. Then we can start looking forward to the rematch at 175 and then the cruiserweight one and so on.

Wasn't it written in the contract for the 1st Pavlik Taylor fight that if Pavlik won, the rematch would take place at 166 since Jermain was already planning on moving up?

Pavlik was and still is a bigger threat to Martinez than JCC Jr, Cotto, or basically anyone at 154 is..

Kelly weighed in at 159.5 for the Martinez fight. He rehydrated by 24lbs in 24 hours.

Without the cut, weight-drained Pavlik would have beaten Martinez the first time.

Why are there always excuses by fans? You always see "If ______________ wasn't/did prepare ______ he would of beaten ___________" You see this all the time. Pavlik lost and there is nothing more to it. If he was an alcoholic, well that is HIS problem not the other fighter's problem.

If you guys go to the Ortiz/Berto and Juanma/Salido you will see the similar parttern in excuses. " If ______________wasn't/did prepare ____________ he would of beaten _____________"

Pavlik lost to Hopkins because of 169/170 pounds and lost to Martinez because of 160 pounds.

    Solution?, retire.

I'm not really interested in Martinez vs. Pavlik II. I'd watch it, the first fight was decent, but IMO... this is not a fight people really care about. Would Pavlik have a legit chance in a rematch? Sure... I think Martinez wins easier in a rematch though.

Martinez fought the worst version of Pavlik we have ever seen. Pavlik from 2002 would beat the living **** out of that guy that showed up last April. Martinez still lost 5 rounds and got put on his ass. And yet, you think Martinez has it easier against a healthy, focused and determined Pavlik? That makes no sense at all.
