You guys can give up arguing facts with this guy. I think its pretty obvious now that my criticisms of his book were not only valid but also even handed in light of such an ignorant, close minded, and unschooled approach to a historical biography. The guy is an ideologue. If it were fairys and not Ketchel that he was interested in you would have to beat him over the head with evidence that fairys dont exist and he still wouldnt believe you. I said it before and I'll say it again: Dont waste your money on **** like this. There are plenty of other good authors and good historians with worthwhile projects for you to patronize.
You are right, there are plenty, and they were historians long before you came along, and many of them do not say that this is a myth. Now, if your "****" is published, and no matter what you do, say, try to prove, try to show, is simply not the truth, to them. I am going to love it. Every glorious, wonderful bit of bashing. I will love it. Hurry up and get it done.
The difference between you and I is that I cover my bases so in most cases that wont be something I have to worry about and if someone does find fault with something Ive printed Im willing to listen and even change provided there is actual evidence. You simply chose to print whatever conformed to your preconcieved notion and discarded literally everything that didnt. One could fill a book with all of the information you left out of yours (whether by design or through your ignorance of the material) and THAT book would be a good one...
Because you're doing the same thing! Why should I? I know you all want to ignore, and bash that book. I also, do not see how anyone can say it's a myth. Better still, you're taking a stance that it is a lie. I think that, if you can, go convince all who think it happened. If you can convince those whom have written it, as truth. Time and time again, as boxing historians, and they change it, then I could take a different stance. But, until that happens, I think the book is still a good assessment of Stanley Ketchel's life story, and it's from information I believe he went to great lengths to find, except, (according to some of you, he found untrue information). Klompton can just go straight to where ever. In his final destination, though, I hope Stanely Ketchel is waiting for Klompton's own private show-and-tell.:boxx
Once again, I don't think you have a clue, who the f_ _ _k you are writing to. Let me just say. You think it's the author of the Stanley Ketchel book you're deriding. You couldn't be further from the truth, who I am. I will disclose this, however. If and when your book comes out ......... OMG!
No we are not, we are asking you to divulge these PRIMARY sources that back up the story. You have yet to do that. Every time Ive confronted you about an issue I have with your book and ask you to back it up you run and hide. Just give us some sources and shut us up. This isnt a conspiracy against you, the only person acting irrational is you. The rest of us are simply asking you to cite a source for that story that was actually on the scene at the time. The closest source you cite was several hundred miles away from the action and even that source didnt back up what you said at all. Ketchel's own manager refutes your story. If Ketchel was so infallible dont you think he would have jumped up and corrected his manager (who had a better seat at the fight than most people) immediately??? In your own words "this book is an excursion into the, This content is protected , This content is protected of both Stanley Ketchel's life, and his boxing career." I think these two goals have fallen far short of your intention and your need to cling to what youve thrown together is only damaging that intention further.
Manuel no one here is that stupid. You jump on a thread I start the day its posted with hardly any posts to your name. That same day a Stanley Ketchel fanatic creates an account and comes on here and defends your work as if its his own using the same illogical fanatical and unfounded arguments as you... This after youve already been busted once lying about your identity. You do realize that the moderators can simply compare your IP signature with that of Ketchels and see you are one in the same person right?
Obviously you are, that stupid. Just like your faulty, information, you're accusing me of being the author of that book. I'm telling you once and for all. I am not manuel, or ketchel. You must be crazy, too.
18 ****ing pages on a book review! :nut Anybody else bought this book to give another viewpoint ...... preferably by someone who's username doesn't indicate they are a Ketchel nut and hasn't registered their account within the last 10 days or so? :bbb
I went back through Ketchel's book to check out the wording used in the second bout between Papke and Ketchel. He doesn't even write that there was a sucker punch, or a surprise, or a sneak punch, at all. WTF? Who in hell even started that, by saying it did?? And, don't say I did, because I didn't! I did defend it, because I believed that the originator of this thread was just being a putz.
