Does anyone seriously want to see Vitali fight Adamek?

Now this is not a knock on Adamek, he's a good fighter in his own right and a very good fighter at his more natural weight. But surely if he steps foot inside the ropes against Vitali, it's a foregone conclusion?!

Does anyone seriously give Adamek a chance? Can we even give him a "punchers" chance since he can't hit at heavyweight no where near hard enough to have a KO threat. With a massive height and reach disadvantage how in the hell could he beat Vitali?

Fact is Vitali has the hardest chin in boxing, versus the lightest hitting "heavyweight" So no way will Vitali respect Adamek's power and the odds are well in Vitali's favour to walk right through him.

Adamek has speed going for him, but in after half the fight that speed was negated by plodder Arreola in their fight a year ago. Arreola began to catch and hurt Adamek, so again even that attribute wouldn't help much.

Kevn McBride if he had any kind of punch output in his fight against Adamek could definitely have troubled him. I'm not being funny, really i'm not, but Mcbride made Adamek work damn hard, a guy who had the speed of a tortoise chased Adamek around and you could clearly see that clean punches if landed would have crushed Adamek big hurt.

I mean let's look at this match up logically and realistically, Adamek would need a miracle, he would need Jesus, Buddha, mother Teresa, the ghost of Martin Luther King, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and any other biblical, fictitious or other wordly powerhouses in his corner to stand even the slightest chance of the upset.

This is boxing though and this year so far has seen many an upset. Is Vitali in any danger of being added to this statistic?

I agree with what you are saying to an extent but Vitaly is 40 years old. Its not inconceivable that he will get old in one fight, as sometimes happens in this sport. Adamek believes in himslef, has a good chin and workrate, and its a good fight for both men.

So yeah, I want to see it, although I wish there was some way both guys could win.

Not that I disagree with you. But remember Adamek stopping Golota. He didn't quite look that feather fisted then, did he? What if Adamek fights the fight of his life and Vitali ages overnight?

Byrd was another small fighter with less power than Adamek. He got a W against Vitali, and no supernatural beings helped as far as I know.

Think of Ottke knocking out Mundine.

It's boxing, so nothing is a foregone conclusion.

Arreola may have slow feet, and be overweight but he actually has pretty fast hands.

If Klitschko doesnt fight Adamek, who else is there to fight. Adamek is a former Light Heavy, Cruiser champ who has beaten fringe contenders since he moved up. He deserves the fight

Adamek has a very unlikely chance of victory...

VK might get an unlucky injury like he did against Byrd.

Yes I give him a chance, and yes I've actually wanted this fight since the Arreola match. This is a styles issue and VK could also use a Ring-ranked top 5 added to a very thin resume, just as the division could use two top fives in the ring together, and just as Adamek could probably use the nice big payday. This is a good thing.

Yeah I like this fight because of the factors listed in the posts above. At the moment we have according to a lot of rating systems the top 4 heavyweights squaring off against one another which is great!

You underrate Adamek, outside of Wlad he has the best chance of beating Vitali. Sure he doesn't have a chance of KOing out Vitali but then again nobody else in the division has either. It has to be remembered also that since Vitali's come back the best performance anybody has put up against him was by Sosnowski, Ko'd in the latter rounds. Well Adamek is 3 times the fighter Sosnowski is and also has a far better chin. Since Adamek has moved to HW he has prepared perfectly for a Klitschko fight, winning almost every round against giant HW, this is his only chance against Vitali, he must win on points, he will definately win some rounds, maybe more than anybody ever has against Vitali, he is getting very old too it has to be remembered.

Conclusion, Vitali has a 70% chance of winning this and I see him winning by very late KO or on points. people are underestimating Adamek's chin, he wont be KO'd early.

Not really, but what else is out there? While I dont have toooo much interest in the fight, I definitely think Adamek deserves his shot, and will really come to fight

This is ****ing ******ed. Do we want to see a HW champion fight one of the top 5 contenders in his division? What an outrageous notion that a champion defend against a leading contender. No, I'd much rather keep watching Vitali slap around relics and club-fighters until he decides to pack it in. **** off.

The fact that as you put it, Adamek will really come to fight. That is what tells me he will be in for a hiding. He's a brave brave fighter and much respect, but he's gonna have to run like he's never run before and an old Vitali is still strong enough to despatch good fighters make no mistake about that.

It's true, it's a fight with 2 big names, and the heavyweight division is crying out for better match ups, but would this actually be competitive? with hand on heart I can't honestly say it will be IMO. I could sit on the fence and say I am not sure, or it could go either way if Vitali has aged enough etc etc, but I'm calling this an easy win for Vitali, it will be short and it will be brutal.

I like Adamek, he is a warrior! But he is to small for a guy like Vitali, no doubt! and his chances of beating a Klit are very low. But he is just as good as anyone else right now, and if Vitali doesn`t want to retire yet, then i have no problem with this fight being made.

Not being funny dude, but Vitali hasn't exactly got alot of top teir heavyweights to pick from has he.

After Haye, Adameck is the next best opponent he could face.

Unfortunatly for the Klitchkos, their era of heavyweight boxers has been the poorest since boxing began and they will forever be hampered when people talk about their legacy for having fought nobodies, fat Americans and over the hill fighters.

Adameck is the best out of a very bad bunch
