Hatton was organising the under card, but Khan was paying for it (or supposed to anyway).

I didnt say anything about McCloskey KO-ing Khan late on, but you would love me too wouldnt you:nut I spoke to loads of McCloskey fans inside and outside the arena (and a few English lads too) and everyone was just pissed off that they couldnt see the natural conclusion of the fight (whatever that might have been). In other words, short changed.

But, you and a lot of others on here, would have difficulty relating to that since you didnt put your hand in your pocket to buy the ppv or a ticket - preferring a dodgy stream.

What's all this about McCloskey should be grateful he got a shot at this great 'King' Khan? Oh yeah because you have to be a real star like a Oisin ***an or a Dimitry Salita to be worthy enough to step in the ring with such a talented guy like Amir. So talented, he couldn't land 3 clean punches in a row against an apparently pathetic Paul McCloskey :patsch

Oscar is such a twat though. Surely someone would have given him at least a couple of tips in speaking by now?

Khan's not fooling the world yet though. He's still yet to win a genuine title anywhere. If he beats Tim Bradley then fine.. he can blab on has much as he likes about being a World Champion.

His team wouldn't even let him go near the British champion and he has the audacity to sit there and talk about the levels between European and World? How would Amir Khan know, he never went near either!

Anyway Dudey will be back. Cheated. NOT Defeated.

I'm glad Khan gave it to them.

Team Khan are amateurs but Team McClsokey showed no class with their delusional comments

Of course McCloskey should be grateful, first of all he got a world title shot he didn't deserve, secondly he got the biggest pay day of his career, thirdly people actually know who he is now, fourthly, he can live off I got cheated by Khan shtick and get some decent fights.

explain how you have come to that conclusion?

Top 10 ranked light welter. British and European champ and unbeaten.

Better resume then what Khan had before he got his title shot and there is no debating about that........

His resume isn't all that great, he may be unbeaten but he struggled mighty against an ancient Lauri and would have lost without the late KO. The same Lauri who Witter demolished in two rounds, when Lauri was in his prime.

Two words for you, Willie Limmond

Plus what are you talking about.. he was beating Lauri comfortably on all 3 scorecards. Not that it mattered much because he knocked him clean out in the 11th anyway.

Sure it wasn't a great performance but it was still a comfortable win. Maybe McCloskey should have called a doctor into the ring to stop it earlier then we'd have no debate..

Willie put up an outstanding effort, but it was he who retired on his stool with a busted eardrum after Khan came back strongly from the knock-down. McCloskey's game plan was to get to a tired Khan in the latter rounds, Khan is one of the best conditioned athletes in boxing, and wasn't even being made to work hard against McCloskey, I have no doubt Khan could have went 20.

Must have been some odd scorecards, because Lauri was in control for long periods of that fight.

Bottom line McCloskey had a one in a lifetime opportunity, and didn't come to fight, risking it apparently on a whim that Khan would tire in the latter stages, which is quite bizarre.

    your jumping between points here.

The previous post you made a point about Lauri giving McCloskey trouble, I replied by mentioning how Willie Limmond gave all sorts of problems to Khan and now your talking about McCloskeys game plan in the Khan fight and Khans ability to go 20 rounds......

    Stay on track.

The fight was scheduled for 12 rounds.. not 5 and a half. Nobody knows what might have happened after that.

This 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to fight Amir Khan is ridiculous as well. Why does nobody else seem worthy enough to grace the ring with such a boxer as Khan, yet Amir gets knocked out by the world #172 and still has everything handed to him on a plate?

I wouldn't worry about McCloskey, if he is good enough then he will work his way up to another shot.
