Listen Billy, i have no problems with you as a trainer, titles speak for themselves, your dedication to the game is so evident, nor have i a problem with any of your fighters in the gym.

Just the way you come across sometimes thats all

If i'm ever up that way i'd love to pop in.

How on earth can you say Billy talks to people like they are **** on a shoe and then go on to talk about fighters the way you just did?

As a boxer myself I'm offended by what you've said and I don't know how you can call yourself a fan of the sport if that's what you think about fighters.

Boxers don't go in to the sport because they are "Brain dead" or because they have no other option in life, they're also not looked at as "chavs". People become fighters because they have it in them, it's a natural instinct.

I don't know how much experience you've had around amateurs gyms and actually meeting boxers but It's safe to say that we're the one's that didn't want to go down the "chavvy" life style you talk about, we're the ones who wanted to do something with our lives and avoid drink, drugs and all the problems that come with it.

Maybe you should take a look at your own ignorance before criticising Billy.

saw Billy interview in Boxing News saying Burns gets no respect. Fight someone decent and he will get it.

On what evidence are you basing that assumption on?

You don't think that 90 percent of boxers could get a modern apprenticeship and become a plumber or a joiner or something similar?

I've been to university and know of several other boxers that have been but obviously that's not going to be a realistic path for the majority of boxers when you consider the ratio of working class kids that go to university.

However, I'm entirely sure that almost all of the other boxers I've come across over of the years are entirely capable of finding another career path and making a living because in all honesty, nobody would rely on boxing as a career path, in the amateurs alone you see enough corruption and injustice which rob fighters of their rewards for any of us to think that boxing would be the most secure path for us to go down.

Well firstly, Joiners and plumbers ect don't make minimum wage and many of them are making more than plenty of university graduates these days.

If your argument that boxing is there only opportunity to become a millionaire then that is completely different to what you originally stated with boxers being "brain dead with no other option in life".

As for your last point about alot of boxers being chav thugs and boxing being a way to make money through being violent, again I'd suggest you go to amateur and professional gyms and get to know those who are involved in the sport you watch. These are the boys who aren't cut out for the so called chav life style.
