If only it was that simple.

What game plan would you of had for McCloskey considering he is the massive underdog, shorter reach, and with the slower hand speed.

Go toe to toe? Stand in front of Khan waiting to be hit?

Didn't say it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to fight Khan, it was a World title shot, one he may not get again.

Unfortunately professional boxing doesn't work like that though. Paul might have got his highest payday for the Khan fight but not too long before that he was just working in a shop, while Khan gets a dozen different trainers and conditioning coaches and every opponent (bar Maidana) spoon fed to him. McCloskey is clearly good enough to fight again for one of the 100+ alphabelt titles like Khan has but whether he gets it and is in the right condition and preparation for it is another thing.

Limond was in his prime, Lauri was way past his.

He should have came to fight early, only time Khan has been stopped is in the first 60 seconds, when cold. Khan gets stronger during the fight, he even took bombs from Maidana in the 10th and was upright.

He was running away from every one of those 'bombs' he took from Maidana though. That (and terrific conditioning) was why he never went down. Not criticising him for that because that's what he needed to do and he still managed to bank enough rounds to get the decision (even though I personally had it level 113-113).

**** off, general consensus was that Khan is a fast starter and its better to avoid him for the first few rounds which he was doing perfectly well.

That is a big difference, struggling against a fighter in his p;rime and one on the way to retirement. Khan didn't struggle that much against Limond, McCloskey was all over the place against Lauri.

General consensus is wrong, irrefutable evidence is Prescott.

    splitting hairs here we are.....

    how is that irrefutable evidence?

What about Maidana fight? Salita Fight?

All more recent and more relevant due to the weight they were fought at and the trainer in his corner at the time. If anything is irrefutable it is that....

So where did the information come from that Khan would tire in the latter rounds, the criteria McCloskey used to define his gameplan. Khan tired against Kotelnik because he was on his bike for 12 rounds, this wasn't the case against McCloskey and McCloskey was doing nothing to induce this tiredness in Khan, Khan was strolling.

McCloskey fans: McCloskey and his team acted like twats, and they're absolutely bull-shitting when they say that the fight was essentially going the way they had planned.

Khan fans: Khan could have handled that much more maturely. I know he was basically goaded into it but he shouldn't have reacted in the way he did. He would've covered himself in a lot more glory(and probably have pissed the others off more) if he didn't indulge in that kind of stuff, because it makes him look a bit of a ****.

What I'm getting at is, they're both as bad as each other, I understand when you're a big fan of somebody you are biased in some way, but getting into arguments over the behaviour of two camps at a press conference doesn't make much sense.
