Just read on fightnews that rematch in august is settled for sal vs lop.

    What happens this time?

The same, but Salido gets to KO him this time. The end of Juanma's career. It's a shame. They should have let him fight someone else before, build up his confidence.

lopez looked good in the first few rds. if he comes in prime time shape, with a more solid defence he coudl win.

Its hard to tell, Lopez looks like a much better boxer, but you could see in the fight that Salida was really uncomfortable for him... Very tough, odd, throwing huge bombs non stop. In rematch Lopez should throw more uppercuts, and generally be more concentrated and ready for strange Salida attacks. You cant be too relax with opponent who tries to knock you out with every punch he throws :) BTW Salida looked really really strong...

Not a bright idea by Arum, not at all. This loss took a lot out of Lopez who needs to regroup before even thinking to have another go. I guess he could knock Salido out in the rematch, he's a puncher after all, but he's risking his career for vengeance. If he beats Salido the titles will be "he was supposed to beat him in the first place". If he loses to a 35-11 guy again, it will be "time to retire". Boxing can be cruel, think about the Ortiz-treatment.

I admire Lopez' bravery, but going straight for the rematch is not very smart. He got figured out and needs either to vastly improve his defensive skills, or pull a Quintana and get the early win.

There shouldn't be any doubt that Juanma can win. He won't let that happen again. After he wins he better make the move up in weight.

I'm quite surprised Arum is all for the rematch so fast.

I have Salido winning again, Lopez has met his match in Salido - he should avoid him.

Same result. I just cant see what JuanMa is going to do different. Salido is just a bad style match up for him. I thought JuanMa would box more effectively but he traded with Salido basically giving up his advantage which was hand speed and boxing skill.
He needs to do more movement and make sure he is in great shape because Salido will probably pressure even harder this time knowing he can hurt him at any time.

Props to Salido. I did not expect that at all and was actually upset this fight was made in the first place as i gave him practically no chance.

Why shouldn't there? There should be every doubt! It's not a one-fight problem. He has been having problems for 4 or 5 fights now.

Why shouldnt there be doubt?? He looked uncomfortable after taking the first right hand.
My only take on that would be he was not focused and was looking ahead to Gamboa.
I know he is your boy but you got to admit he needs to fight a perfect fight against Salido next time around and JuanMa is not really about perfection.

    Tighter/cagy defense
    Avoid the right hand
    Jab

That all he has to do.

Basically he has to become a new different fighter.

I got love for JML, but hes not on my top favorite fighter list.

He doesn't need the perfect fight. He just needs to come in better shape (might be weight issues), tighter defense, jab and avoid the right hand.

Thats all he needs to do.
