McCloskey thought it was serious when that prat of a doctor came in to assess the cut. Being a decent fella, he didn't kick up too much of a fuss. Not every fighter acts like a lunatic when they get stopped due to cuts. I can imagine Oscar himself accepting such a decision without creating a scene.

As for showing De La Hoya disrespect, it was understandable. They probably thought he was behind the doctor's very odd reaction to an innocuous cut and suspected some pre-fight shenanigans.

Yeah I paid the 15 quid for another joke fight but the joke fight wasnt anything to do with either boxer it was the ref /doctor that made it a joke.

And to talk about the promoter putting 3 microphones in front of team khan and none infront of McCloskey.....

Awwwww it's always the wee irish folk that get picked on isnt it...get a grip and move on.

Well at least we agree on the key point. And it isnt about the poor wee Irish, it is about the contrast in perceived lack of fair play for the challenger and the house fighter.:thumbsup

He can dump whichever promoter he wants why are is it hurting you is Frank Warren your dad? He has defended his title against worthy opponents. If you think Kotelnik was an easy world title fight then you don't know **** mate, look at how Kotelnik fought against Alexander and Maidana?

    Hang on a ****en second!!!

The fight was stopped and it shouldn't have been stopped, people are entitled to vent their frustration at the press conference and put difficult questions to the promoter... They weren't all Irish, there are several British accents in there too and everyone who queried that with De La Hoya was damn right to do so.

This is a man's game, not a boxercise class, Oscar's been around to say the least and I'm sure he can deal with a few difficult questions. None of the comments at the press conference were disrespectful or derogatory unlike several of the racist comments on here from people who are criticising the Irish media for raising queries..

And as for the comments on here directed towards McCloskey's camp- John Breen has trained five world champions and he's entitled to ask the former boxer De La Hoya if he thinks it should have been stopped.

:patsch right so... you don't tolerate some heated questioning at a pressser after a very controversial ending to a world title fight but you think its okay to engage in violence at the same presser

You make it sound like Khan, De La Hoya and English people in general owe the Irish a living, Basically McCloskey has forgotten this was a voluntary defence and that before this this he was fighting on leisure centers and just got the biggest pay day of his life.

McCLoskey turned up did **** all during the fight and then moaned like a ***** at the press conference about the stoppage which was bad but still he didnt do **** all to warrant a rematch. He can go back to Ireland and fight in leisure centers the Irish are desperate for a boxing champion but McCLoskey aint it!

What would the Irish like? Would they like Khan to just bend over and hand over his belt? GIve the irishman all his money? De La Hoya say that McCLoskey is the best? All because McCLoskey is irish?

Irish need to calm down with the nationalism, There guy was hyped and then got outclassed every minute of the fight ffs!

Being knocked out cold by the Golden Boy would be the highlight of some of those disgraceful bums lives.

His trainer is one uncivilised ****, did he go to school or what, don't know how to behave at a press conference chatting **** to Oscar while hes talking.

Love the part where Oscar says to Mcloskey your plans havent changed, you'll get to the top lol looking at Freddie smiling like yeah not on that ****ing performance

Mcloskey just wants another payday. Khan put all these ****s in there place, good job

Khan shouldnt trash talk... really sounded like a cocky idiot when talking about KO'ing Paul and all that 'listen to the champ' talk... he needs to keep a humble attitude not go over the top and talk too much. Does not suit him.

Humble? When your opponent and his whole team act like a pack of animals they deserve ZERO respect.

Mr Confidence Mcloskey wasn't so cool in that presser was he, when your talking to the champ you do show some respect especially when you put in a performance more suited to Comic Relief than a PPV event

I know but even so, Amir isnt suited to trash talking, hes not a Naseem Hamed type even if he has a cockiness at times, he should have just told it how it is but in a calm manner not with the puns and so forth.. Cause remember, Amirs opponents talking trash will be passed along as nothing, but Amir trash talks and the whole boxing world goes through the roof, thus for his rep i reckon he should be a bit more reserved.

Khan was not talking trash though, he was angry at their behaviour.

Some people are better with words when they get angry as I believe is the case with Khan. He was not mocking Paul, he was saying it how it is
